Regular Ivieeting of the Board of Commissiore rs June 2, 1952. Leeting was
called to order by I4iayor Barcafer, the roll was called and Commissioners Barcafer,
Cobb, King, Price and Ramsey and City Attorney Clark responded.
The minutes of the Regular ivieeting of Idiay 26, 1952 were read and approved
as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
ratifying and confirming a contract with the 11. J. Taylor Construction Company for
the construction of certain curbing, guttering and grading improvements on certain
streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to
pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds."
On motion of Commissioner King the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its finaladoption t e roll wascalled and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, King, Price and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) Layor approved

the ordinance and it is Numbered 5656.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
ratifying and confirming the contract of Frank Fessler for the alterations and equippin
of the Salina Public Library for the City of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Cobb the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption -: e roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Ping, Price and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) 114ayor approved the
ordinance and it is Numbered 565'x.
An ordinance was introdued for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
levying special assessments against certain property to pay the oust of constructing
certain water service iipes and sewer connections in certain streets in the City
of Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Cobb tr.e ordinance was read and a dopted by sec-
tions and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, King, Price and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) !"ayor approved
the ordinance and it is Numbered 5655.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the inclusion of certain land within tike corporate limits of the
City of Oalina, prescribing the corporate limits of said city and repealing
Section 6 of Ordinance Number 5655."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, King, Price and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) !r,ayor
aoproved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5659.

Petition iiumoer 1318, for the paving of the alley next west of Lot 116 on
Seventh Street in the Original Town of 'Jalima Kansas, was taken up and referred to
the City Manager.
hxtension Agreement was presented from Central Kansas Fish and Game Associa-
tion, Inc., Commissioner King moved that City Manager be auti-orized
said agreement. Carried.
T. V. Ordinance.
City Attorney advised that City Planning Commission beasked to pass on their
recommendation of deleting wording in Itern 3, Section 17 of 'Zoning Ordinance, on height
of aerials.
Commissioner King moved to refer the matter to City Planning Commission.
Carried.
Letter and resolution presented from State Highway Commission, regarding
allowance for additional mileage on State Highway maintenance. Commissioner
King moved to approve and Mayor authorized to sign. Carried.
The following petitions were presented and referred to the City Manager:
• I I Curb and gutter i,iorningside Drive from Sunrise to Roach.
Paving all streets in Likins-Foster Addition and the South one-half of Repub-
lic Avenue along the North boundary line of said subdivision
Concrete Construction Bond presented from David Nuss.
On motion of Commissioner Price approved by the Board of commissioners. Carried
The matter of increasinc; taxicab fares was discussed by the Board of Commis-
sioners.
Commissioner Cobb moved to increa e taxicab fares for all territy, except the
Air Base. (jarried.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
amending Section 13-1326, Revised Ordinances of the City of Salina, Kansas 1948
and repealing the original of said section." Ordinance was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
Wilson and Company, Engineers, presented Tentative Sewer Plans.
Commissioner Price moved to accept. Carried.
Commissioner Price made motion that City Attorney have abstractor prepare
description of land affected for Benefit District. t,otion adopted.
Layor asked opinion of other Commissioners regarding more signs at State
Street and By -Pass. Referred to City tanager.
On motion of Commissioner Price the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
