Meeting was called to order by iayor Barcafer, the roll was called and Commissioners Barcafer, Cobb'Kin Price and Ramsey acid Assistant City Attorney Yordy responded. City Attorney ark absent. The minutes of the Regular meeting of April 21, 1952 and Zoning Board of Appeals Ivieeting of April 21, 1952 were read and approved as read. Pursuant to notice published in the Salina Journal bids-aere received fro the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers Numberedd 272 to 275, inclusive, as follows: Engineer Job Number 284) H. J. Taylor Construction Company �)034.50 0. D. Wilmoth 9287.00 City Engineers Estimate 9612.00 • Bids were tabulated by the City Engineer. Commissioner King moved that contract be awarded to H. J. Taylor Construction Company, as per bid submitted in the amount of 49034.50; and that check be returned to unsuccessful bidder. Iuiotion adopted. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction Compapy for the construction of certain Lateral Sanitary Sewers in the City of Salina, hereto- fore designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer,.Districts 272, 273, 274 and 275, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending issuance and sale of bonds." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commis- sioners. Mayor appointed J. Marl Wyatt, Harley Rose and C. B. Dodge, Jr., to act as appraisers in ascertaning the valuation of certain lots and pieces of ground liable to special assessment for the cost of constructing Lateral Sanitary Sewers Numoered 272 to 275, inclusive (Engineer Job Number 284). Commissioner Cobb moved that appointments be confirmed by the 3oard of Commission s. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance regulating and limiting the time of parking of vehicles on a part of certain streets i.n the City of Galina �,nd providing a penalty for the violation thereof." On motion of Commissioner King the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: fsarcafer, Cobb, hiiig, Price and Ramsey (5) Mays: (0) IYayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5643. • An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain curbing, guttering and grading improvements on certain streets in the City of Salina., and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds." An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the vacation of a portion of a certain street in the City of Salina, Kansas." is 0 313 On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption tLe roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes; ,Barcafer, Cobb, King, Price and Ramsey (5) days: (0) 1ayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5616. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing to the curbing, guttering and gracing of Republic Avenue from the center line of Sunrise Drive to the center line of Roach Street." On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Jarcafer, Cobb, King, Price and R amsey (5) Nays: (0) 1dayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1306. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating tothe curbing, guttering and grading of Inez Street from existing curb and gutter, west sixty (60) feet more or less to the City limits." • On motion of Commissioner Price the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll wassailed and the following vote was had; Barcafer, Cobb, King, Price and Ramsey (5) Nays: (0) Yiayor approved the resolution and it Num- bered 1307. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the paving with concrete, of Sunrise Drive from the South line of Ellsworth Avenue to i, he South line of tiirwin Avenue." Resolution was referred. to the bard of Commissioners. A resolution was introdu:;ed for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the paving with concrete, of Sheridan Street from the South line of Crawford Avenue to the South line of Illinois Street." Resolution was referred to the board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ine; to the paving with concrete:, of Delaware Avenue from the South line of Gypsum Avenue to the South line of Stack Avenue." City Lngineer filed Final hstimate for the construction of curbing, guttering and/or paving certain streets provided for in Ordinances Numbered 5572, 5573 and 55711 (Lngineer Job Numoer 275). Approved by Commissioner Price. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance provid- ing for and regulating the use of certain lands as a trailer campas autiorized by Section 13, Ordinance Aumjer 55119 and voiding Ordinance Number 5641." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. • Petition presented from 100 idorth Santa Fe Incorporated, for rezoning of Lots 9 to 20 inclusive, Block 2, ?acific Addition, to uistrict "F" Light Industrial. i'Leferred to City Planning Commission. 314 Larry Gutsch presented tentative plat for land west of $y -Pass and South of Republic Avenue. Referred to City Planning and Zoning Commission. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the equipping of the public library of the City of Salina and providing for the issuance of bonds to pay the cost thereof and for the issuance of temporary notes pending the issuance and sale of said bonds." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. City Engineer filed plans and specifications for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers Numbered 276 and 277. Approved by Commissioner Price. Carried. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution relating to the construction of sidewalks in Sunrise Addition." On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption ti:e roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: harcafer, Cobb, King, Price and Ramsey (5) Bays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1308.
