Regular eetirig of the Board of Commissioners Larch 31, 1952. Ioieeting was
called to order by Layor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissioners Ramsey, 3ar-
cafer, Cobb, Tang and Price and City Attorney Clark responded.
The minutes of the Regular Fleeting of hearth 24, 1952 were read and approved
as read.
Pursuant to notice published in the Salina Journal bids were received for
the construction of "Lateral Sanitary Sewers 269, 270 and 271 as follows:
H. J. Taylor Construction Company .4937.00
0. D. Wilmoth $5144.00
City Engineer's Estimate 45,8d4.00
• Commissioner Price moved that contract be awarded to Ii. J. Taylor Construction
Company as per bid submitted in the amount of X4937.00 and that check be returned to
unsuccessful bidder. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance rati-
fying and confirming a contract with H.J. Taylor Construction Company for the con-
struction of certain Lateral Sanitary Sewers in the City of Salina, heretofore desig-
nated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts 269, 270 and 271, and providing for the
issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending issuance and sale of
bonds." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Co mi

eu. Tinkle and Son appeared before the Board of Commissioners regarding
height of T. V. Towers and changing ordinance. Referred to City Planning Commis-
sion.
Buildi_ig Application No. 3468 Building Inspector instructed to issue
permit where front entrance is changed observing front setback and side yard require-
ments. Motion adopted.
^(m. Wilson appeared for Salina Building Company, regarding ground on West
Crawford Avenue, that had been used by Federal Government as a trailer court, asking
for permit to operate it as a trailer court.
Commissioner King made motion to set hearing date of April 14th, 1952 and also
refer to City Planning Commission. Carried.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relat-
ing to the curbing, guttering and grading of Roach Street, from the North line of
IrcAdams Road to the South line of 14artin Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Price the resolution was adopted as read and on its
• finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey,
Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) idayor approved the resolution and
it is Numbered 1289.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 358 Resolution Book Number 4.
A resolution was iritrodu.;ed for second reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the paving and grading of Garfield Avenue from the North line of Lincoln
Avenue to the north line of idorth Street."
On motion of Commissioner Cobb the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey,
.Darcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) I,fa.yor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 1290.

A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution
relat_.ng to the paving and grading of Lincoln Avenue from the fast line of Garfield
Avenue to the Last line of Arthur -venue . "
On motion of Commissioner King the resolution was au -'opted as read and on
its finaladoption the roll wascalled and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey,
harcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) I;iayor approved the resolution and
it is numbered 1291.

An ordinance was introdu;ed for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the vacation of a dedicated utility easement (alley)."
On motion of Commissioner Barcafer the ordinance was read and adopted
by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote
was ;gad; Ayes: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor
approved the ordinance arid it is Numbered 5633•
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the curbing, guttering and graing of Beatrice Avenue from the
center line of Republic Avenue to the center line of Martin Avenue; for the curb-
ing, guttering and greding of Lewis Avenue from the center line of Republic Avenue
to the center line of Martin Avenue; for the curbing, guttering and grading of Martin
Avenue from the center line of Sunrise Drive to the center line of Roach Street; and
for the curbing, guttering and gradin; of Norton Street from the north line of Jewell
Avenue to the south kine of Ellsworth Avenue; for the curbing, guttering and grading
of West side of Ohio Avenue from the center l:iice of Republic Avenue to the center line
of Lartin Avenue; for the curbing, guttering and grading of Pearl Avenue from the center
line of Republic Avenue to tree center line of I,;artin Avenue; for the curbing, guttering
and gradin- of truest side of Roach Street from the center line of Kirwin Ave,iue to the
center line of Ellsworth Avenue; for the curbing, guttering and grading of Roach Street

On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the curbing, guttering, paving and grW ing of university Street
from the west line of Clark S reet tot he east line of Broadway Boulevard; for
the Davin; and gra ino of Sheridan Street from the North line of Venango Street
tot lie south line of Franklin Street, and providing for the payment of the cost thereof,
how the same shall be assessed, and the manner of the payment of the cost thereof."
on motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;

ordinance and it is numbered 5635•
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the paving and grw ing of alley first east of Fifth Street from the
North line of Iron Avenue, 1,1orth 207 feet, more or less, to the existing brick pave-
ment, and provid ng for the cost thereof, how the cost thereof shall be assessed
and the manner of payment thereof."
On motion of Coamissioner King the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its finaladoption ti.e roll was calledald the following vote was had; Ayes:
Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordi-
nance and it is Numbered 5636.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ardinance creat-
ing and defining certain lateral sanitary sewer districts in the City of 'Ialina,
designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts Number 273, 274, 275, and providing
for the corgi tru: tion of lateral sanitary sewers insaid Lateral Sanitary Sewer Dis-
tricts �urn,)er 273, 274 and 275 so created, and providing for the payment of the
cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the propert insaid
district for the payment of the cost of such construction and for the issuing of
bonds to pay the cost thereof." Ordinance was referred to the
Boar i of Commissiom- rs.
City Engineer filed plans and specificat�L_ons for the construction of Lateral
Sanitary )ewer Numuer 272. Commissioner Cobb moved that same be approved by the
