Regular I'veeting of the Board of Commissioners Iviarch 3, 1952. i,leeting
was called to order by Layor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissioners Ramsey,
Barcafer, Cobb and Price and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner ping
absent.
The minutes of 'the Regular ieeeting of February 25, 1932 and meeting of
Board of Zoning Appeals were read and approved as read.
Pursuant to notice published in the official City paper bids w ere received
for the construction of Lateral Sanitary bewer ilumber 268 (Job iWmber 262) as follows:
Salina Crane and Shovel Company 42,313.25
u. D. udilmoth 1,914.10
II.J . Taylor Construction Company 1,929.50
• City Engineer's Estimate 2,192.00
Commissioner Price moved that contract be awarded to 0. D. Wilmoth as per
bid submitted in the amount of P -'l,914.10 and that checks be returned to unsuccess-
ful bidders. Lotion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
ratifying and confirming a contract with 0. D. Wilmoth for the construction of
certain lateral sanitary sewers in the City of Saiina heretofore designated as Lat-
eral Sanitary Sewer i)istrict 268, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes
to pay the cost thereof, pending issuance a nd sale of bonds." Ordinance was
referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introdu"ed for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
condemning certain land within the City limits of Salina for the use of s aid City
in the construction of a storm sewer and conduit."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its finalaloption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobband Price (4) days: (0) Commissioner King absent.

An ordina.ice was introduced for second r eading entitled: "An ordinance
prescribing the s alar -Les of certain offi..crs of the City of Salina and repealing
Section 1-611 of the itevised Orciinances of the City of Salina 1948 as amended by
Ordin"nce 5575 of said city."
On motion of Commissioner Cobb the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: ttamsey, Cobb, Barcafer and Brice (Z1) Bays: (0) Commissioner King
absent. i..ayor appro .ed the ordinance and it is Iuumbered 5624.
An ordinance was introdu :ed and passed en-,itled: "An ordinance making
appropriation for the payment of-ertain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Barcafer the ordinance was read and adop-3ed by
sections and on its finaladoption tl.e roll was called and the following vote was
had; AZ/es: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb and Price (4) days: (0) Commissioner King
absent. Layor approved the ordinance and it is ilumJered A-582.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriation for the pzy ment of _ertain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final a doption the roll was c alled and the follovring vote was had;
Ayes: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb and Price (4) hays: (0) Commissioner King absent.
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A -5)63 -
An ordinance was introduced for first reading: "itblating to covering for
garbage trucks." Referred to Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance pro-
viding for the inclusion of certain land within the corporate limits of the City of
Salina., i�ansas, prescribin; the corporate limits of said City and repealing Section 4
of Ordinance i3o. 5608." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance .vas introdu:;ed for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
ratifying and confirming the contract of Thielen and i:ullen Construction Company for

the building of a nile trestle bridge at the Elm Street crossing for the City of
Salina, 1,ansas.11 Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
Sidewalk in new addition. Referred to City I;.anager.
Two-hour parkin; on both sides of Lighth Street and Iron Avenue. Tabled for
present.
A petition vias preseiited for the curbing and guttering of Wisconsin Avenue
from Iron Avenue t o Tpsum Avenue. Referred t o City Eianager.
City I: anager reported on Petition No. 1275 for sewer to serve Blocks 4, 5 and
6 in haft I`anor Addition.
An ordinance was introduced for first rea ing entitled: "An ordinance creating
and defining a certain lateral sanitary sewer districts in the City of Salina, Kansas,
designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer districts dumber 269, 270 and 271 and providing
for the construction of lateral sanitary sewers insaid Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts
dumper 26), 270 and 271 so created and providing for the payment of the cost thereof
and for the levying of special assessments against the property insaid district for the
payment of the cost of such construction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the cost
thereof." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
City Lanager reported on Petitoin ilumber 1276 for traffic light at Plinth and
Elm Streets. .ot practical from traffic count at this time.
On motion of Commissioner Price the Board of Commissioners adjourned.

-; ayor appointed J. Larl Wyatt, liarley ase and C. B. Dodge, Jr., to act as
appraisers in ascertaining the valuation of ,iertain lots and pieces of ground liable
to special assessment for the cost of constructing La�eral Sanitary Sewer :lumber 268.
On motion of Commissioner Cobb appraisers were confirmed by the B,,rd of dommis-
siore rs . Carried.
