Regular 1'veeting of the Board of Commissioners February 18, 1952. ?sleeting
was ,�a lled to order by IdIayor Ramsey, the roll was al led and Commissioners Ramsey,
3arcafer, Cobb and Price and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner King absent.
The minutes of the Regular Leeting of February 11, 1952; Zoning Board of
Appeals 14eeting of February 11, 1952; and Special Leeting of February 14, 1952 were
read and approved as read.
Bids were presented for the construction of Elm Street bridge as follows:
Johnson -Sampson Construction Company $15,615.00
L. W. Rexroad and Son 142973.00
Thielen it Mullen Construction Company 14,831.00
• City Engineer's Estimate 16,136.00
Commissioner Price moved that contract be awarded to Thielen-!&filen Construc-
tion Compan yas per bid submitted in the amount of X14,834.00; and that other bids be
retained for one week. Potion adopted.
City Engineer filed plans and specifications for the construction of Lateral
Sanitary Sewer Number 268.
On motion of Commissioner Price plans and specifications for the construction
of Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 268 accepted by the Board of Commissiona rs;and City
Clerk instructed to advertise for bids tobe received up to and including Larch 3rd,
1952 at 7:30 o'clock P. P:. 1�otion adopted.
A resolution vias introduced for second reading entitled: "A •`tesolution
relating to�-urbing, guttering and grading of Roach Street from the center line of
Republic Avenue to t he center line of Martin Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Cobb the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey,
Barcafer, Cobb and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner King absent. Mayor approved
the resolution and it is slumbered 1275.

On motion of Commissioner Price the resolution was adopted as read and on

providing for the regulation of traffic within the City of Salina, Kansas, and pro-
viding penalties for the violation thereof."

An ordinance was i_ntroduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance re-
lating to City limits." Referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance regulating
places where cereal malt beverages may be sold and repealing Section 508 of Chapter
13 of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Galina, Kansas, 1948." Referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance amending
Sec. 24-1422, Revised Ordinances of the City of Galina, Kansas, 1948,a nd repealing
the original of said section so amended." Referred to,the Board of Commissioners.
City ;vlanager reported on -petition for the paving of Sheridan Street from
IjVilson to Franklin.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the paving and grading of Sheridan Street from the South line of Wilson
Street to the worth line of Franklin Street." Resolution referred to t he
Board of Commissioners.
City Manager reported on petition No. 1272 for sidewalks in Southeast Salina.
liotion made that petitioner get 50� of property owners to sign petition, and
that will pay for Ghe construction of said sidewalks. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "tin ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
Un motion of Commissioner Cobb the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final a doption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
ayes: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb and Price (4) days: (0) Commissioner King absent.

T;ayor submitted the following appointments for various City Boards:
Library Board E. J. Dyck and T.Zrs. V. C. Webb for a term of four years
from February 1, 1952.
Welfare Board liarold Jaeger for a term of five years from Lay 21, 1952.
Also to fill unexpired term of Edwards A. Biller ldeceased),
from February 18, 1952 to May 21, 1952.
Band Trustee James L. Geisendorf, for a term of three years from
January 1, 1952.
Above appointments confirmed by the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Barcafer the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
