01-14-1952 Minutesf_ COMMISSIOILRS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING • COMMISSIONERS ROOM, SAL I NA, KANSAS. JANUARY 142 1952 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 14, 1952. Meeting was called to order by Mayor Ramsey, the roll was cal led and the following responded: Commi.ssioimers Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price and City Attorney Clark. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 7, 1952 and Board of Zoning Appeals Meetin`; of January 7, 1952 and Special Meeting of January 11, 1952 were read and approved as read. Mr. Hoffman appeared with Mr. & Mrs. Ward regarding Playland Amusement Park. Letter presented. Commissioner Price moved to file letter and refer to City Attorney. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance prescribing the salaries of certain officers of the City of Salina and repealing Sections 1-602 to 1-610 both inclusive, of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Sal ina, Kansas, 1948, as anended by Ordinance No. 5531•" • On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its finaladoption the roll wascalled and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordi- nance and it is Numbered 5611. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the amendment of Section 15-103 Revised Ordinances of the City of Salina, 1918, and repealing the original of said amended section." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Iviausoleum Deed was presented from Edith Cross Hall for the purchase of Section 4, Companionate Crypt "B" in the Hillcrest Memorial Mausoleum. Approved by Commissioner Cobb. Carried. The following letters were presentee from the City Planning Commission: City Planning Commission would like to have a meeting with Mr. S. Herbert Hare of Hare & Hare, Kansas City, Missouri. Commissioner King moved to refer to City Manager for Meeting January 22, 1952. Recommending that land owned by Harr�lW. Banker and Blanche Banker be held in abeyance until such time that the interested parties can show that the area will be used within a reasonable time. Commissioner King moved to table until need is shown. Carried. Recommending that Preliminary Study "A" submitted by Chas. W. Sheldon be approved with the changes shown in red contingent upon submittal of a final plat as set forth in the rules for land platting. Referred to City Manager. Recommending that area bounded on the North by Republic; on the West by • 81 By Pass; on the South by Jewell Street; and on the East by the present city limits plus 165 feet west of 81 By Pass adjacent to the above area be included within the city limits of Salina. Referred to City Manager. City Manager reported on petition asking for the curbing and guttering of Norton Street from Jewell to Ellsworth. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating tothe curbing, guttering and grading of Norton Street from the North line of Jewell Avenue to �he South line of Ellsworth Avenue."
