The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 27, 1953 and Special Meeting of April 27, 1953 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the amending of Zoning Ordinance Number 5519 and the Zoning District Map therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof." On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was alled nd the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham, Lake and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5779. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance • providing for the curbing, guttering and paving of Crawford Avenue from the west line of the Union Pacific Railroad Right -of -Way, t ence east to the east line of Roach Street, extending north and south, and providing for the payment of the cost thereof, how the same shall be assessed and the manner of the payment of the cost thereof." On motion of Commissioner Cobb the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham, Lake and lvenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5780. Ordinance introduced for first reading, April 27th, 1%53, entitled: "An ordinance providing for the vacation of a part of Walnut street in the City of Salina, tiansas." was again taken up by the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Wenger moved to table indefinitely. Carried. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Lake the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham, Lake and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-646. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Cunningham the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll wascalled and the following vote was • had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham, Lake and 'iVenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-647. Petition presented from Emma Catlin for the rezoning of the tract of land containing seven acres between Kirwin and Claflin and on the west side of Ohio. Petition referred to the City Planning Commission. City Manager reported on Petition Number 1385 for sidewalk on Roach, Beloit, Sunrise Drive and Republic Avenue. Insufficient signers. Referred to petitioner. Wilson and Company, Engineers, filed Final Estimate in the amount of $4315.65 to Frank Fessler for library repairs. Approved by Commissioner Lake. Carried. City Engineer filed Partial Estimate Number 1 in the amount of $2006.62 to Saum Bros., for construction of sidewalks provided for in Engineer Job Number 301. Approved by Commissioner Lake. Carried. The following petitions were presented and referred to the City Manager: For paving Oakdale Avenue from Ash Street to Elm Street. For curbing, guttering and paving Marietta Street from Clark Sreet to Chicago 0 reet. Commissioner Lake moved that City Manager be authorized to purchase • Billing and Posting Machines for Individual Ledger cards in the Water Department. Carried. • 1 1 • 1 40 City Engineer filed Partial Estimate Number 1 in the amount of $23,291.22 to H. J. Taylor Construction Company for paving certain streets provided for in Ordinance Number 5726 (Engineer Job 300). Approved by Commissioner Cobb. Carried. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution authorizing and providing for the issuance of Temporary Note of the City of Salina.. Kansas., in the sum of $23,291.221, to pay a portion of the cost of improving certain streets in the City of Galina to pay a portion of the cost of improving certain streets in the City of Salina to be designated as Series PT -14 pending the issuance of bonds to pay the cost of said work." On motion of Commissioner Cobb the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham, Lake and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1397. The above resolution is recorded in full on Pages 132, 133 and 134 Resolution Book Number 5. Murray A. Wilson, a Licensed Civil Engineer, filed Partial Estimate Number 3 in the amount of 0`11,891.80 to H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of Intercepting aewer "AA". Approved by Commissioner Cunningham. Carried. A resolution was introdied and passed entitled: "A Resolution authorizing and providing for the issuance of Temporary Note of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $11,891.80, to pay a portion of the cost of certain sewer improvements in the City of Galina to be designated as ST -13 pending the issuance of -bonds to pay the cost of said work." On motion of Commissioner Cunningham the resolution was adopted as read and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Cunningham, Lake and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1398. The above resolution is recorded in full on Pages 135, 136 and 137, Resolu- tion Book Number 5. City Engineer filed Partial Estimate Number 1 in the amount of $8,940.00 to 0. D. Wilmoth, for the construction of Franklin Street Storm Sewer. Approved by Commissioner Lake. Carried. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: ''A Resolution authorizing and providing fort lie issuance of Temporary Note of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $8,940.00 to pay a portion of the cost of certain sewer improvements in the City of Salina to be designated as ST -17 pending t e issuance of bonds to pay the cost of said work."
