Recommending that petition presented from 0. K. Webster for the vacating
of the alley from the North line of Lots 5 and 6, to the 3)uth line of Lots 45 and
46, in Block 4, North Park Addition, be granted upon the express condition that not
only that portion of the alley requested to be vacated by the petitioner be vacated,
but that the ehtire alley from the north to south be vacated. Commissioner
Vienger moved to accept. Carried.
• An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the vacation of a certain north south alley located between Lincoln
Avenue and North Street in Block 4, North Park Addition, subje # to reservations."
Ordinance referred to the Board of Commissioners.
Letter presented from Davis -Child Motor, Inc. relating to type of building
proposed to be located on Lots 818-826 North Eighth Street. Referred to the
City Manager.

Commissioner Wenger moved that City Clerk advertise for hearing to be held
April 27th, 1953 at 7:30 o'clock P. M. Carried.
Commissioner Wenger moved that City Manager be instructed to enter into a
contract with Wilson and Company, Engineers, to complete plans and specifications

Newly elected Co mmissioners, Max S. Lake, and Lloyd Cunningham, having
filed the proper bonds, took the oath of office and were seated as City Qvmnissioners.
Roll Call: Barcafer, Cunningham, Lake and Wenger and City Attorney Clark
- responded. Commissioner Cobb absent.
The minutes ofthe Regular Meeting of April 6, 1953; Special Meeting of
April 6, 1 53 and Canvassing Board Meeting of April 10, 1953 were read and approved
as r ead.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the appropriation and condemning certain land within the Qty limits
of the City of Salina, Kansas, for the use of said City for _ he drilling and erection
of two water wells -to be used to supply saud city and its inhabitants with water."
On motio of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-

tions and on its final adoption the roll was c alled and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Cunningham, Barcafer, Lake and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Cobb absent.
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5772•
City Engineer filed plans and specifications for Main Sanitary Sewer "AB".
Commissioner Wenger moved to accept. Carried.
Commissioner Wenger instructed to advertise for bids for Lateral Sewers
Numbered 294, 295, 296 and Main Sewer "AB", known 8L s.Job.306. Bids to be received
up to and including April 20th, 1953. Carried.
Th following letters presented from the City Planning Commission:
Recommending that petition filed by C. H. McCall for the right to operate a
trailer camp on Lots 22, 24 and 26, Block 21 Van Trine's Addition to the (Ity of
Salina, Saline County, Kansas, with a building to front on Second Street, be granted
for period not to exceed two years. Commissioner Cunningham moved to table
recommendation for one week. Carried.
Recommending that petition filed by.J. Wm. X lso n for the rezoning of Lots
39, 40, 41 and 42, Block 3, VanTrine's Addition from District "B" to District "D"
be defined. Commissioner Wenger moved to accept. Carried.
