Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 26, 1953• Meeting
was: called to order by Mayor Barcafer, the roll was called and Commissioners Barcafer,
Cobb, Price, namsey and Wenger and City Attorney Clark responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 19y 1953 were read and approved
as; read.
Pursuant to Notice published in the official City paper bids were received
on Water Tank for the Salina Water Department as follows:
1.1 to 1.5 Chicago Bridge and Iron Company $22,477.50

Commissioner Price moved to accept bid of The Darby Products of Steel Plate
Corporation, a& per bid submitted in the amount of $71,068.00, for Water Tank (Part 1)
Carried.
Commissioner Wenger moved to accept bid of The Darby Producst of Steel Plate
Corporation, as per bid submitted in the amount of $811.00 for Obstruction Lights
•
(Part 2). Carried.
Commissioner Ramsey moved to accept bid of Brown and Brown, Inc., for
footings ( 1.1 to 1.5) as per bid submitted in the amount of $19,924.25. Carried.
Commissioner Wenger moved to accept bid of Electro Rust -Proofing Company,
as per bid submitted in the amount of $910.00, for Cathodic Protection (Part 3).
Carried.
Commissioner Price moved to return checks and bonds to unsuccessful bidders.
Carried.
No persons appeared to protest against the rezoning of Lots 2 and 4, Block 6,
to Class "B" REsidential.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing fa� the a,endment of Zoning Ordinance Number 5549 and the Zoning District
Map therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property
within the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof." Ordinance was referred
to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
aut orizing and directing the issuance of Revenue Bonds Series "Plltt of the City of
Salina, Saline County, Kansas, in the principal sum of $30,000.00 for the purpose of
paying part of the cost of acquiring land within said city and improving the same for
off-street parking facilities."

On motion of Commissioner Cobb the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Barcafer, Cobb, Price, namsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is Numbered 5747.

An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
levying special assessments against certa n property to pay the cost of constructing
certain water service pipes and sewer connections in certain streets in the City
of 5.1 ina, Kansas." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
Commissioner Cobb moved that the City Clerk advertise for bids for the con—
struction of Lateral Sanitary Sevier Number 292, to be received up to and including,
February 9, 1953 at 7:30 o'clock P. M. Carried.
The following petitions were presented and referred to the City Manager:
For paving Connecticut Avenue from Gypsum Avenue to Stack Avenue.
For a sewer in the 600 Block on North Third Street.
Concrete Cors truction Bond was presented from McCoy Plumbing and Heating
Company. Approved by Commissioner Wenger. Carried.
Application for Cereal Malt Beverage License presented from Kathryn VanFleet
d/b/a Pacific Street Grocery, 200 East Pacific. Commissioner Wenger moved
that application be approved and license granted. Carried.
Letter presented from City Planning and Zoning Commission recommending that
Replat of Edgemere Addition to the City of Salina, Kansas, be approved.
Commissioner Ramsey moved to accept recommendation. Carried.
Building Application Number 4461 presented from Busboom and Rauh.
Referred to City Planning and Zoning Commission.
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
