DECEMBER 28, 1951 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners December 28, 1951. heeting was called to order by Mayor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissioners Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price and Assistant City Attorney Yordy responded. City Attorney Clark absent. The minutes of the Regular �:eeting of December 17, 1951 were read and approved as read. Al Webb of the Missouri Pacific Railroad Company, appeared before the Board of Commissioners to protest regarding inclusion of their property within the corporate limits of the City of Salina, Kansas. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance provid- ing for ti -e inclusion of certain land within the corporate limits of the City, prescrib- ing tie corporate limits of said City and repealing Section 3 of Ordinance Number 5606.t1- • On motion of Commissioner King Section 1 was read and adopted ap read- and._:_, on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price Ayes: 5 Nays: (0) On motion of Commissioner Price Section 2 was read and adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) On motion of Commissioner Barcafer Section 3 wasread and adopted as read and on its final adoption the rollwas c al led and the following vote was had; Ayes.- yes:Ramsey, Ramsey,Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5608. City Manager reported on requirements for new additions. Complete and file for January 7th meeting. 38 Beer Applications (renewals) were presented. On motion of Commissioner Price applications were approved and license granted. Carried. One Beer Application (new) was presented. On motion of Commissioner Price same was approved and license granted, subject to final inspection of Food Inspection Department. Carried. Commissioner Price made motion that City Clerk issue Beer License for any renewals that come in before the first day of January that have been okayed by the Chief of Police and Food Inspection Department. Carried. Petition presented from Harry W. Banker to include within City limits 97.4 • acres west of 81 By -Pass. Referred to City Planning Commission. Dan Bolen presented a plat of area. Referred to City Planning Commis- sion. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Cobb the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-572. Fred Joy, Probate Judge and Assistant County Attorney,�ppeared before the Board of Commissioners regarding full time Juvenile Officer and the City bearing some of the expense. Put on agenda for January 7th, 1952• Wm. F. crosser, Jr., submitted his resignation as a member of the City Planning Commission as of January 1, 1952. Mrs. Cobb moved that resignation be accepted and City Manager write letter. Carried. Mayor appointed raul Berger as a member of the City Planning Commission to fill unexpired term of Wm. F. crosser, term of office to expire May 1, 1952• On motion of Commissioner Barcafer appointment confirmed by the Board of Commission- ers. Carried. Unable to okay as it does not comply with ordinance. Greiner Building Application (Morningside Addition). Unableto okay as it does not comply with ordinance. • Building Application Number 33324 presented from R. B. Wiley. Commissioner Barcafer moved that same be approved. Carried. C. A. Weckel, 1704 Highland Avenue,wants to build two houses on Lots 87 and 89. Unable`.to okay as it does not comply with ordinance. On motion of Commissioner Price the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
