NOVEMBER 26, 1951
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 26, 1951. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissioners Ramsey, Barcafer,
Cobb, King and Price and City Attorney Clark responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 19, 1951 were read and approved
as read.
Pursuant to notice published in the Salina Journal bids were received for the
construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 266 (known as Engineer Job No. 278) as
follows:
Salina Crane & Shovel Company $2327.00
H. J. Taylor Cors truction Company 2299.50
City Engineer's Estimate 2390.00

Commissioner Price moved that contract be awarded to H.,-. Taylor Construction
Compan y, a s per bid submitted in the amount of ~$2299.50 and that check be returned to
unsuccessful bidder. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance rati-
fying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the con-
struction of certain lateral sanitary sewer in the City of Salina, heretofore designated
as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 266 and providing for the issuance of
temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending issuance acid sale of bonds." Ordinance
was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
Mayor Ramsey appointed J. Earl Wyatt, Harley Rose and C. B. Dodge, Jr., as
appraisers for Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 266. On motion of Commissioner Price
appointment confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. kotion adopted.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing,
guttering and grading of ►Nest side of Roach Street from the center line of Kirwin
Avenue totlie center line of Ellsworth Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner King the resolution was approved as read and on its
final adoption t;.e roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey,
Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and
it is Numbered 1264.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 329 Resolution Hook Number 4.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for
the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes;
Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) MW or approved the ordinance
and it is Numbered A-568.
City Engineer filed plans and specifications for the construction of curbing,
guttering and or paving certain streets provided for in Ordinance Number 55)9, (known
as Engineer Job Number 280.)
un motion of Commissioner Cobb plans and specifications were approved by the
r Board of Commissioners, and that City Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids for
such work to be received up to and including Monday, December 10th, 1951 at 7:30 o'clock
P. L. Motion adopted.
A letter was presented from the Board of education of the City of Salina,
nansas, asking for the inclusion within the City limits the following described
property:
"Commencing at a point 100 feet East of the N. W. corner of
the i3. E./4 of the N. E/4u f 5ection46, Township 14, South, Range 3
West of the 6th P. M. Saline County, riansas; thence South 770 feet;
thence East 350 feet; thence North 770 feet; thence West 350 feet
to the point of beginning, containing 6.2 acres, more or less."
