COMMISSIONERS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MEETING
COMMISSIONERS ROOM,
SALINA, KANSAS.
OCTOBER 11 1951
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners October 1, 1951. Meeting was
called to order by mayor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissioners Ramsey, Bar-
cafer, icing and price and Assistant City Attorney Yordy responded. Commissioner Cobb
and City Attorney Clark absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 24, 1951 were read and approved
as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance rati-
fying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the
construction of certain curbing, guttering and grading improvements on certain streets
in the City of Salina and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the
cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds."
On motion of Commissioner King the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
• and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Ramsey, Barcafer, King and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Cobb absent. mayor
approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5586.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance rati-

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance rati-

On motion of Commissioner Barcafer the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Ramsey, Barcafer, King and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Cobb absent.
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5588.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance prescrb -
ing limitations as to habitation and maintenance of house -car trailer, and sanitary
requirements of the City of Salina, Kansas, amending Sec. 25-102 Paragraph No. 2 and
Sec. 25-105 Paragraph 3 (a) and Sec. 25-105 Paragraph 3 (b), Revised Ordinances of the
• City of Salina, 1948 and repealing the said sections and paragraphs."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Ramsey, Barcafer, King and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Cobb absent. Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5589•
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance provid-
ing for the inclusion of certain land within the corporate limits of the City
of
Salina , prescribing the corporate limits of said city and repealing Section 4
of Ordi-
nance No. 5580."
On motion of Commissioner King the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final doption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes:
Ramsey, Barcafer, King and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Cobb absent.
Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5590.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for
the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes:
Ramsey, Barcafer, King and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Cobb absent.
Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-561.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."

On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by

Mayor Ramsey appointed J. Earl Wyatt, harley Rose and C. B. Dodge, Jr., to
act as appraisers for curbing,guttering and/or paving improvements provided for in
Ordinances Numbered 5572, 5573 and 5574 Down as Job number 275). On motion
of Commissioner Bing appointments confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. Motion
adopted.
Commissioner King moved that the City Clerk be instructed to advertise for
the sale of the following bonds to be received up to and including Monday, October 22,
1951 at 7:30 o'clock P. M. Carried.

An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
authorizing and providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of the City of
Salina, Kansas, in the sum of $104,676.68 to pay the cost of improving certain
streets and alleys in said City, to be designated as Series Number P-151." Ordi-
nance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
authorizing and providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds in the sum of •
$38,093.79 to pay the cost of improving certain streets in said City to be designated
as Series Number P-153." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
City Engineer filed Final Estimate in the amount of $4860.04 to Salina Crane
and Shovel Company for Lateral Sanitary Sewers ;lumbered 260 to 263 inclusive, (Known
as Engineer Job Number 272). Approved by Commissioner Price. Carried.

kausoleum Deed for the sale of Crypts 440, 441 and 442 to F. P. L4nahan
was ~resented. On motion of Commissioner Price approved by the Board of Commission-
ers. parried.
Letter received from City Planning and Zoning Commission, making the follow-
ing recommendations:
To repeal Item 2, Section 23, Zoning Ordinance Number 5549.
Commissioner King moved to approve and City Clerk give legal notice. Carried.
That lot 17, 200 Block on East beloit, be rezoned to District "B" Second
Dwelling.
Commissioner King moved to accept and City Clerk give legal notice. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Barcafer the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
