An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
amending Ordinance No. 5549 of the City of Salina, and creating, regulating and
restricting the location, repair, alteration of buildings designed for the specified
use; and regulating and restricting use of land within said temporary zone; and •
temporarily excluding certain land from District "A" First Dwelling House District
as defined by Ordinance No. 5549; and including said land in said temporary district;
and precriibi ng a penalty for the violation of its terms and repealing Ordinance No.
5186, only insofar as it conflicts herewith." Ordinance was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
The following petitions were presented:
Petition to rezone Lots 15, 17 and 19, in HLock 18, Pacific Addition for
duplexes, presented from Gutsch Agency. Referred to City Planning Commission.
Petition to vacate alley between Twelfth and Baker and Walnut and South,
presented from David P. Pollak. Referred to City Planning Commission.
Petition to curb, gutter and pave 900 HLock on idorth Fifth Street, (Pacific
to Harsh), presented from Mary A. Jones. Referred to City Manager.
Application for Cereal Malt Beverage License presented from Charles Curtis
McDaniel. On motion of Commissioner King rejected by the Board of Commissioners.
Motion adopted.

providing for the curbing, guttering and grading of the north side of Charlotte
Avenue from the East line of Simmons Street to the west line of Fourth Street; for
the curbing, guttering and grading of Cloud Avenue from the west line of Simmons
Street to the West line of the Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way; for the curbing,
guttering and grading of -Ellsworth Avenue from the East line of Norton Street to
the west line of Roach Street; for the curbing, guttering and grading of Fourth
Street from the South line of Cloud Avenue to the South line of CharlotteIvenue;
for the curbing, guttering and grading of Gebhart Street from the South line of •
Cloud Avenue to the North line of Charlotte Avenue; for the curbing, guttering and
grading of Kenison Road from the South line of McAdams Road to the North line of
Wilson Street; for the curbing, guttering and grading of Larson Street from the
South line of Cloud Avenue to the North line of Charlotte Avenue; for the curbing,
guttering and grading of kinneapolis Avenue from the East line of Quincy Street

of Funston Street; for the paving and grading of Lamar Street from the East line of
Fourth Street to the West line of Third S}reet; for the paving and grading of Penn
Avenue from the south line of Gypsum Avenue to the North line of Smoky Hill Drive;
for the paving and grading of Reynolds S reet from the North line of Lincoln Avenue
to he South line of Broadway Boulevard;'and for the paving and grading of Twelfth
Street from the Aorth line of Lincoln Avenue tothe South line of Grand Avenue; and •
providing for the payment thereof, how the same shall be assessed and the manner of
payment of the cost thereof." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commis-

Regular Meeting of the
Board of Commissioners August 6, 1951. Meeting was
called
to order by payor Ramsey,
the roll was called and Commissioners Ramsey, Bar-
cafer,
Cobb, King and -Price and
City Attorney Clark responded.
The minutes of the Regular
Meeting of July 30, 1951 were read and approved
as read.
No persons appeared to
protest against the rezoning of lots owned by the
Kansas
Wesleyan University from
District "A" First Dwelling House District to Emer -
gency
"C" Apartment District.

providing for the curbing, guttering, paving and grading for a width of Twenty (20)
feet, East side of Fourth Street from the North line of Crawford Avenue to the South
line of Prescott Avenue;^ for the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Grand
Avenue from tine West line of Eleventh S�reet to tt:e West line of Twelfth Street;
for the curbing, guttering, paving and g ading of Grand Avenue from the West line
Twelfth Street to he East line of Thirteenth Street; for the curbing, guttering,
grading and paving of Tenth Street from the North line of Grand "venue to the south
line of Woodland Avenue; for the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of University
Street from the Missouri Pacific Railroad tracks to the East line of Clark Street;
and providing for the payment of the cost thereof, how the same shall be assessed
and the manner -of payment of the cost thereof." Ordinance was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is Numbered A-553•
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its finaladoption the roll was called and following vote was had; Ayes:
Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordi-
nance and it is Numbered A-554.
The following letters were presented from the City Planning Commission:
Recommending that petition for rhe addition to the City limits of Replat
of Block 5, Claflin's Addition be denied. Commissioner Price moved to accept
recommendation. Motionadopted.
Recommending that Lot 33 and the fiest 1/2 of Lots 35, 37, 39, 41 and 43
on Fourth Street, Original Town of Salina be rezoned to "G" Heavy Industrial. Com-
missioner King moved to accept recommendation and City Clerk give thirty days notice
in the official City paper as provided by law. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
prescribing the salaries of certain officers of the City of Salina and repealing
Section 1-611 of the Revised Ordinance of the City of Salina, 1948." Ordinance
was referred t:)t he Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the repHr and reconstruction of a certain portion of that certain
outfall sewer in Ash 6 reet in the City of Salina and providing for the payment of
the cost of such improvement b�r the City at large,and for the issuance of general
improvement bonds of said city to pay such cost." Ordinance was referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Barcafer the Board of Commissioners adjourned.

COMMISSIONERS ROOM,

AUGUST 6, 1951
City Commissioners met as a Board of Zoning Appeals. Meeting was
called to order b tiiayor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissioners Ramsey,
Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price and City Attorney Clark responded.
City Manager presented Building Application Number 3171 from Fred Buerkle,
540 South Twelfth Street, setback requirements under Section 23, No. 3 of 'Zoning
Ordinance.
Commissioner King made motion to refer all such matters to City Planning
and Zoning Commission for their advice and opinion. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Price the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
