JULY 9, 1951
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners July 9, 1951. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissioners Ramsey, Bar-
cafer, Cobb nd Price and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner King absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 2, 1951 were read and approved
as read.
Paul Swartz appeared with petition from YMCA for Vending Portable Soft Drink
Machine during Soft Ball Games. Will use Board of Education Ticket Booth and
will clean up all paper cups etc. Commissioner Barcafer moved to grant the
petition. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance No. 5549 and the Zoning District Map
• and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the
city and prescribing the proper uses thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Barcafer the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner King absent.
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5569.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the inclusion of certain land within the corporate limits of the City
of Salina, prescribing the corporate limits of said city and repealing Section 5 of
Ordinance No. 5530•"

On motion of Commissioner Bareafer the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was had:
Ayes: Ramsey, Bareafer, Cobb and Price (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner King absent.
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5570•
Commissioner Barcafer moved to table Part 1 and 2 on East side of By Pass and
include Part 3 and 4 within the corporate limits of the City of Salina. Southeast
corner and two lots in Hageman Park Addition. Carried.
Building Application Number 3156 for the erection of a building on the North
fifty feet Lot 1, Santa Fe Avenue, Holland's Addition, was presented from Arthur
Wilkens. Commissioner Barcafer moved to accept Planning Board letter and re-
quire regular setback. Carried.
The following letterswere presented from the City Planning Commission:
Relating to violation of Section 17, Paragraph 3, Ordinance No. 5519,
•
(erection of television antenna at 911 South Ninth Street, Salina, Kansas, exceeding
permitted height. Referred to City Manager.
Recommending that vacation of University Street from West side of Broadway
West to the East line of the channel of Dry Creek be denied. Commissioner
Price moved to accept report of Planning Commission. Carried.
Recommending that Lots 3 and 4, Block 1, Re -Plat of Beebe's 2nd Addition be
retained in Zone "C" Apartments. Commissioner Price moved to table for
two weeks or until a meeting can be held with City Planning Commission. Carried.
Lease was entered into between the City of Salina and Central Kansas Fish
and Game Association, Inc. Commissioner Cobb moved that City Manager be auth-
orized to sign lease. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
levying special assessments against certain property to pay the cost of constructing
certain water service pipes and sewer connections in certain streets in the City of
Salina, Kansas." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Cobb the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
