On motion of Commissioner Cobb the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the Resolution and it is Numbered 1240. Regarding City Limit Ordinance. Sampson and others appeared and petitioned bringing in land west of the By -Pass. Commissioner King made motion to withhold action on City Limit Ordinance until July 9th, 1951, to allow petitioners to present petition asking that Planning Board and City Commissioners make known whether or not they will rezone this land after it is taken in so it can be used for business purposes as it is now being used. Carried. Application presented from Curtis McDaniel, June 18th, 1951, asking for Cereal Dalt beverage License at 632 East North Street was again taken up by the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner King moved that application be denied and not granted. Carried. Commissioner King made motion that regular and part time City Employees and elected officials be taken in under the Social Security, retroactive to January 1, 1951. Employees to 12% and City's lt% to be paid by Temporary Notes if the 1951 Budget is insufficient. Carried. A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution authorizing a plan and extending the benefits of title 11 of the Social Security Act, in conformity with the applicable provisions of such Act to the Employees of the City of Salina, Kansas,:: nd authorizing and directing the City Manager to execute and the City Clerk to attest such plan for said City of Salina and submit the same to the Kansas Department of Civil aervice, the state agency." On motion of Commissioner King the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, Price and King (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the Resolution and it is Numbered 1244. Application for Cereal Malt Beverage License was presented from Ward H. Buell, d/b/a "Station Smoker" at 717 Bishop Street, Salina, Kansas. Commissioner Price moved that application be approved and license granted subject to final inspection and approval of R. S. Fassnacht, Sanitary Inspector. Carried. Certificate of Plat filed on Blocks 2, 04,5,6,7 and 8, in Hageman Park Addition. Commissioner King moved that same be accepted by the Board of Commissioners. Carried. City Manager reported on the following petitions: Curbing, guttering ;nd paving Crawford avenue from Fourth Street to Fro Street. Insufficient signers. notify petitioner. Paving of Grand Avenue from Tenth Street to Eleventh Street. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A nesolut�on relating to the paving and grading of Grand Avenue from the West line of Tenth Street to -the nest line of Eleventh Street."
