Meeting was called to order by Mayor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissioners Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price and City -attorney Clark responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 21, 1951, and Regular Meeting of May 221, 1951 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and con- firming a contract with Ii J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain Lateral Sanitary Sewer in the City of Salina heretofore designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District 264,and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending issuance and sale of bonds." • On motion of Commissioner Cobb the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had, Ayes: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5561. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance prescribing the place of installation of certain sidewalks in the City of Salina, Kansas . " On motion of Commissioner Barcafer the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ajfes: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5562, An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the vacation of certain streets and portions of streets in the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner King the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5563• An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Barcafer, Ramsey, Cobb, King and 'rice (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-544. • I City Attorney to report next week on Drainage Ditch and Sewer Project. • Letter was presented from City Planning Commission regarding parking space taken up by Daniel Wiegner on Santa Fe Avenue between South Street and Prescott Avenue. Referred to City Manager. Petition was presented for the paving of Twelfth Street from Lincoln to Grand. Referred to City Manager. Application for Beer License presented from Gladys Burgdorff, d/b/a "The Corral" at 121 South Fifth Street. Commissioner King moved that applica- tion be approved and license granted. Carried. Claim was presented from Mrs. L. A. Bartlett, widow of L. A. Bartlett, deceased, asking the City of Salina to pay over to her the mileage earned by the said L. A. Bartlett, from April 1941 to November 1949, which was, without right, withheld from him. Commissioner Price moved that claim be rejected. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Cobb the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk •
