Meeting was called to order by Mayor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissioners Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price and City Attorney Clark responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 30, 1951 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance granting permission to change frontage in certain lots and pieces of real estate, being Lots 1-15, both inclusive, in Darden Home, a part of the South Half (S/2) of the southeast Quarter (SE/4) of Section Thirteen (13), Township Fourteen (14) South, Range Three (3) West of the 6th P. M. in Saline County, Kansas, now a part of the City of Salina, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Price tt.e ordinance was read and -adopted by sec- tions and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5556. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment -of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Cobb the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final G doption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-541. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted bysec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ramsey, Cobb, Barcafer, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordi- nance nd it is Numbered A-542. City Engineer filed plans and specifications for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 264. Commissioner Price moved that same be approved by the Board of Commissioners and that City Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids tobe received up to and including May 21, 1951 at 7:30 o'clock P. M. Motion adopted. Applicationfbr Cereal Malt Beverage License was presented from Richard J. Taylor d/b/a "White House Tavern", 813 North Santa Fe Avenue. Commissioner Price moved that application be approved and license granted. Motion adopted. • Petition was presented from Salina Building Company and John Deere to bring within the corporate limits of the City of Salina, property between Walnut and Crawford, east of U. S. Highway 81 By -Pass. Referred to City Planning and Zoning Commission. The following petitions were presented: For curbing, guttering and paving East side of Fourth Street from Pres- cott Avenue to Crawford Avenue. Referred to City Manager. For installation of water main in the 400 Block on East Antrim. Referred to City Manager. Commissioner Price made motion to authorize Mayor to sign the Replat of Lots 1 to 15, both inclusive, in Garden Home Addition. Motionadopted. MAY 7, 1951 Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners May 7, 1951. keeting was called to order by Mayor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissioners Ramsey, Barcafer, Cdbb, King and Price and City Attorney Clark responded. Meeting was held for the purpose of acting on the appraisers reports for the curbing, guttering and/or paving certain streets provided for in Ordinances Numbered 51166 and 5467, ( Known as Job Number 264) . No protests on Appraisers Reports for the curbing, gu�tering and/or paving certain streets provided for in Ordinances Numbered 526 and 5447 (Known as Job Number 26.) Commissioner Price moved to accept reports. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Claflin Avenue from the west line of Eleventh Street to the east line of Pershing Street; for the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Twelfth Street from the south line of Broadway Boulevard to the south line of Grand Avenue; and for the paving and grading of Front Street from the south line of Crawford Avenue to he north line of Republic Avenue; and relating to and provid- ing for the collection and payment of such assessments." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of curbing, gutter- ing and grading of Beloit Avenue from the west line of Quincy Street west approximately 300 feet; curbing, guttering and grading of Connecticut Avenue from the north line of Gypsum Avenue tothe south line of Stapler Avenue; curbing, guttering and grading of Delaware Avenue from the north line of Gypsum Avenue tothe south line of Stapler Avenue; curbings guTtering and grading of the south side of Hamilton Avenue from the center line of Eleventh Street tothe center line of Twelfth reet; curbing, guttering and grading of Harsh Avenue from the center line of Eleventh Street tothe center line of Twelfth Street; cutting, guttering and grading of Indiana Avenue from the center line of Ckpsum Avenue tothe south line of Stapler Avenue; curbing, guttering and grading of Pacific Avenue from the center line of Eleventh Street t o the center line of Twelfth Street; curbing, guttering and grading of Stapler Avenue from the center line of Delaware Avenue tothe east line of Indiana Avenue; curbing, guttering and grading of Twelfth Street from the center line of Pacific Avenue to the center line of Harsh Street; curbing, guttering and grading of the east side of Twelfth Street from the center line of Harsh Avenue tothe center line of Hamilton Avenue; and for the curbing, guttering and grading of the north side of Wilson Street from the west line of Front Street tothe east line of Third Street and on the south side of Wilson Street from the west line of Front Street to a point 125 feet west of the west line of Second Street; and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments."
