Meeting was called to order by Mayor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissioners Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price and Assistant City Attorney Ybrdy responded. City Attorney Clark absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 23, 1951 were read and approved as read. Commissioner Cobb moved that Fortune Telling License remain at $25.00 per dag . Carried. A Resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Morningside Drive from the East line of Kerrison Road to the center line of Sunrise Drive." On motion of Commissioner Price the resolution was adopted as read and on • its final adoption tie roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) Payor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1223. The above Resolution is recorded in full on rage 277 Resolution Book Number u. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and defining a certain lateral sanitary sewer district in the City of Salina, Kansas, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 264, and providing for the construction of a lateral sanitary sewer in said Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 2614, so created, and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the property in said district for the payment of the cost of such construction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the cost thereof." On motion of Commissioner trice the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) uayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5555. Wilson and Company, Engineers, filed Estimate Number 1 in the amount of 329c5.50 to Busboom and Rauh for Airport Building. Commissioner King roved that estimate be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Carried. Plumber and Gas Fitters Bond presented from E. R. Boyer. Commissioner Price moved that Bond be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Carried. Letter was presented from the City Planning Commission recommending that • North 50 feet of the South 95 feet of Lots 25, 27 on Park Street, in Wilson's Addition to the City of Salina (also known as 220 North Thirteenth Street) not be rezoned to "C" Residential. Commissioner King moved that recommendation be accepted by the Board of Commissioners. Carried. The following petitions were presented and referred to the City Manager: Paving Reynolds Street from Lincoln to Broadway. Paving Lamar Street in Hutchinson's Addition. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance granting permission to change frontage in certain lots and pieces of real estate, being Lots 1-15, both inclusive, in Garden Home, a part of the South Half (S/2) of the Southeast quarter (SE/4) of Section Thirteen (13) Township Fourteen (14) South, Range Three (3) West of the 6th P. M. in Saline Co-nty, Kansas, now a part of the City of Saliva, Kansas." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Com- missioners. Petition was presented from E. P. Nichols and E. F. Ludwig for the vacation of Marietta Avenue from Broadway, west. Referred to the City Planning Commis- sion. The appraisers reports for the curbing, guttering and/or paving certain streets provided for in Ordinances Numbered 55014 and 5505 (Engineer Job 268) were presented, and on motion of Commissioner Barcafer, City Clerk was instructed to give notice in the official City paper of Special Meeting to be held Monday, May 114th, 1951 at 7:30 o'clock Y. lb., at which time the reports will be taken up and acted on by the Board of Commissioners.
