04-23-1951 MinutesIF)C'N COPS IISSIONIRS PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR MELTING COMMISSIONERS R001&, SALINA, KANSAS APRIL 23, 1951 Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners April 23, 1951. Meeting was called to order by Layor Ramsey, the roll was called and Commissioners Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price and City Attorney Clark responded. The minutes of the Regular keeting of April 16, 1951 were read and approved as read. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Kenison Road from the south line of Mckdams Road to the North line of Wilson Street." On motion of Commissioner Price.the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (U) kayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1221. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 275, Resolution Book Number 4. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A resolution relating to the issuance of Temporary Vote in the amount of $20,632.23•" On motion of Commissioner King the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) uayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1222. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 276, Resolution Book Number 4. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain clairis . n On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ramsey, Barcafer, Cobb, King and Price (5) Nays: (0) mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-510. The matter of increasing taxicab fares was taken up by the Board of Com- missioners. Commissioner Bing moved that action on same be deferred sixty days, June 25, 1951. kotion adopted. The following letters presented from City Planning and Zoning Commission. Relating to adoption of ordinance for land platting. City Attorney advised did not need an ordinance but that they should be approved by City Planning and Zoning Commission 4nd City Gbmmissioners. He stated he would go over them with City Planning and Zoning Commission regarding one or two changes, and then the City Commissioners could make their final approval. Hageman Park Addition needs new plat to meet requirements. Petitioner so notified. Recommending that Block One (1) Garden Home Addition be rezoned to local business. Approved by Commissioner Price and City Clerk instructed to give thirty days notice in the official City paper. Carried. The following petitions were filed: Mrs. Dana L. Sunderland, to rezone from "B" Residential to "C" Residential, the North 50 feet of South 95 feet of Lots 25 and 27, Park Street, Wilson's Addition. Referred to City Planning and Zoning Commission. 'Salter Nash, rezoning Lot Ten (10) Block 132 Pacific Addition from "B" Second Dwelling to "F" Light Industrial. Referred to City Planning and Zoning Commission. For paving and guttering University Street from PCU ssouri Pacific tracks, west to Clark Street. Referred to City Manager. • 1 1 r � L J 1 1 1 0 • 1 • 1 • 1 1 0 The appraisers reports for the curbing, guttering and/or paving certain streets provided for in Ordinances Numbered 5466 and 5.67 (Engineer Job Number 264) were presented, and on motion of Commissioner Price, City Clerk was instructed to give notice in the official City paper, of Special Ialeeting to be held May 7th, 1951 at 7:30 o'clock Y. 11. at which time reports will be taken up and acted on by the Board of Commissioners. Niotionadopted. City Manager reported on the following petitions: Petition dumper 1193 of Larson and Gebhart for Lateral Sanitary Sewer to serve Block 3, Kraft lia.nor Addition. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and defining a certain lateral sanitary sewer district in the City of Salina, Kansas, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 264 and pro- viding for the construction of a lateral sanitary sewer in said Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 261, so created, and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the property insaid dis- trict for the payment of the cost of such construction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the cost thereof." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Petition Number 1191, for curbing and guttering Morningside Drive from Kenison Road to Sunrise Drive. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing to 'he curbing, guttering and grading of k1orningside Drive from the east line of Kerrison Road to the center line of Sunrise Drive." Resolution was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Petition Number 1192, for curbing and guttering west side of Sunrise Drive from Republic Avenue to Viorningside Drive. Does not recommend curbing and guttering one side of street only. Commissioner Price made motion to so notify petitioner. On motion of Commissioner Price the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
