Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners March 26, 1951. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor King, the roll was called and Commissioners King, Price,
Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb and City Attorney Clark responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 19, 1951 were read and approved
as read.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating tothe paving of Penn Avenue from the south line of Gypsum Avenue to the
north line of Smoky Hill Drive."
On motion of Commissioner Price the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: King,
Price, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 1218. •
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 269 Resolution Book Number
4.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Tenth Street from the
north line of Grand Avenue tothe south line of Woddland Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Webb the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: King,
Price, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 1219•
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution authorizing
the acceptance of a Grant Offer from the United States relating tothe development of the
Salina Municipal Airport, Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner Price the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: King,
Price, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 1220.
The above resolution is recorded in fall on Pages 271 to 274, Resoliution
Book Number 4.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was ca led and the following vote was

had; Ayes: King, Price, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb (5) Nays: (0) payor
approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-535•
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: King, Price, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is Numbered A-536.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing that vehicles shall stop before entering certain intersections and pro-
viding for the amendment of Section 24-1006, Revised Ordinances of the City of
Salina, 1948, as amended by Ordinance No. 5546 and providing for the repeal of said
Section 24-1006 amended as aforesaid." Ordinance was referred to the Board of
Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
drives, alleys, rights
providing for the vacation and abandonment of certain streets,
and easements of the City of Salina, Kansas." Ordinance was referred tothe Board
of Commissiore rs.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance rati-
fying and confirming the contract of Busboom and Rauh for the building of an Adminis-
tration Building at the Salina Municipal Airport for the City of Salina, Kansas."
Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.

Electrical Bond was presenteditom John W. Snedker. On motion of Commis-
sioner Webb approved by the Board of Commissioners.
Petition was presented from F. Fox to change the width of Quincy Street
between Iirwin and Jewell to sixty-five (65) feet. Petition was referred to the
City Planning Commission.
Mayor appointed Howard B. Eagle as a member of the Board of Trustees of
the Salina Municipal Band, for a term of three years from January 1, 1951 to January
1, 19514, in place of Rudolph Morgenstern, whose appointment expired January 1, 1951•
On motion of Commissioner Stephenson appointment confirmed by the Board of Commis-
sioners. Motionadopted.
City Engineer filed plans and specifications for the construction of Lateral
Sanitary Sewers Numbered 262 and 263. On motion of Commissioner Price approved
by the Board of Commissiom rs.
Commissioner Price moved that City,Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids
for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers Numbered 260, 261, 262 and 263, to
be received up to and including April 9, 1951 at 7:30 o'clock P. M. Carried.
isCity Engineer filed plans and specifications for the curbing, guttering
and/or paving of certain streets provided or in Ordinances Numbered 55113 and 5514,
known as Job No. 271. On motion of Commissioner Webb approved by the Board of
Commissionrs. Carried.
Commissioner Webb moved that City Clerk be instructed to advertise for bids
for the construction of curbing, guttering and/or paving improvements provided for
in Ordinances Numbered 5513 nd 5544 (known as Engineer Job No. 271), to be received
up to and including April 9th, 1951 at 7:3U o'clock P. M. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Price the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
