Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners March 5, 1951. Meeting was
called to order by Acting Mayor Stephenson, the roll was called and Commissioners
Stephenson, Ramsey and Webb and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioners King
and Price absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 20, 1951 were read and ap-
proved as read.
Junk Ordinance tabled indefinitely. Carried.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Sunrise Drive from the south
line of Beloit Avenue to the south line of Ellsworth Avenue."
On motion of CommissionerRamsey the resolution was adopted as read and on •
its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Ste-
phenson, Ramsey and Webb (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners King and Price absent.
Acting Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1211.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 262 Resolution Book
Number 4.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Ylinneapolis Avenue from the east
line of Qiincy Street to the east line of i4orton Street."
On motion of Commissioner Webb the resolut on was adopted as read and on
its fi nal adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Stephenson, Ramsey and Webb (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners King and Price absent.
Acting Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1212.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 263, Resolution Book
Number 4.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
creating and defining certain lateral sanitary sewer districts in the City of
Salina, Kansas, designated as Lateral Sanitary $ewer Districts Numbered 260 and
261, and providing for the construction of lateral sanitary sewers in said Lateral
Sanitary Sewer Districts Numbered 260 and 261, so created and providing for the
payment of the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the
property in said districts for the payment of the cost of such construction and for
the issuing of bonds to pay the cost thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Webb the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was

had; Ayes: Stephenson, Ramsey and Webb (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners King and
Price absent. Acting Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5510.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted b5,
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Stephenson, Ramsey and Webb (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners King
and Price absent. './Acting Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered
A-532.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motioh of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its finaladoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Stephenson, Ramsey and Webb (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners King and
Price absent. Acting Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered A-533•
No persons appeared to protest against the rezoning of Lots 21, 22, 232
24 and 25, Block 9, Pacific Addition to "D" Light Industrial.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: An ordinance
providing for the inclusion of certain lands in the City of Salina, Kansas, in
the "D" Light Industrial District as that district is defined by Section 6 of
Ordinance No. 3168 and providing for the proper use thereof." Ordinance

was referred to the Board of Commissioners.

Applications for Cereal Malt Beverage License presented as follows:
Salina Baseball Club. Approved by Commissioner Webb. Carried.
Leonard J. Johnson. Approved by Commissioner Ramsey Carried
Mrs. Orlie Hanks Approved by Commissioner Ramsey.Carried
Mausoleum Deed for the sale of Crypts Numbered 462 and 463 to W. 0. Jones,
was presented. Commissioner Webb moved that ILayor be authorized to sign Deed
on behalf of the City of Salina. Carried.
The following petitions were presented and referred to the City Manager:
Curb and gutter Hamilton from Mird to Fourth.
Paving Penn Avenue from Gypsum Avenue to Smoky Hill Drive.
Sanitary Sewer to serve Blocks 6 and 7, Morningside Addition.
Band Contract for the year 1951 was presented. On motion of Commis-
sioners Webb same was approved by the Board of Commissioners and Mayor authorized to
sign the Contract. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
authorizing and providing for the issuance of bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas,
in the sum of $12,500.00 to pajr the cost of purchasing land for park purposes to be
designated as Series E-153; and authorizing the issuance of temporary notes pending
the sale and issuance of said bonds." Ordinance was referred to the Board
of Commissioners.
City Manager presented change in Taxicab fares. held over for study.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A kesolution re-
lating to the curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Grand 4 -venue from the west
line of Twelfth Street to the east line of Thirteenth Street." Resolution was
referred to the Board of Commissioners.
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
