Meeting was called to order by iviayor King, the roll was called and Commissioners King, Price, Ramsey and Webb and Acting City Attorney Yordy responded. Commissioner Stephenson and City Attorney Clark absent. The minutes of the Regular Leeting of January 22, 1951 and Special ieet- ing of January 24, 1951 were read and approved as read. Pursuant to notice published in the Salina Journal bids were received for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers 255, 256, 257, 258, 259 and iuiain Sewer "Y" as follows: Salina Crane & Shovel, Salina, Kansas 420,980.80 Brown & isrown, Inc. Salina, Kansas 21,653-50 H.J.Taylor Construction Company, Salina, Kansas 20,224.10 • City Engineer's Estimate in the amount of $21,094.00 was read. Commissioner Price moved that contract be awarded to H. J. Taylor Con- struction Company as per bid submitted in the amount of $20,221.10, and checks be returned to unsuccessful bidders. Motion adopted. Mayor appointed J. Larl Wyatt, Wm. F. Grosser, Jr., and John Frederick, for Lateral Sanitary Sewers cumbered 255, 256, 257, 259, 259 and Lain Sewer "Y". On motion of Commissioner Price approved by the Board of Commissioners. iaiotion adopted. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: 'tAn ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain Lateral Sanitary Sewers in the City of Salina heretofore designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts 255, 256, 257, 258, 259 and Main Sewer District "Y't, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending issuance and sale of bonds." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance prescribing certain standards for the installation of water connections and lead lines, amending Section 6-409, Revised Ordinances of the City of Salina, 1948, and providing for the repeal of said Section 6-409." Commissioner Ramsey moved to approve Building Application Number 2980 for Farm Equipment Parts Company, to include 509 North Ninth Street. notion adopted. Combination Plumbers and Gas Fitters Bond presented from Clifford W Johnson. Commissioner Webb moved to approve. iuotion adopted. Commissioner Webb motied that ordinance be introduced for first reading increasing bus fares. ivotion adopted. Mayor appointed P. M. ivacDonald and Loran Slaughter as members of the Salina Public Library Board, to succeed Earl Woodward and Robert F. Burnett, whose terms expired February 1, 1951. On motion of Commissioner Webb approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. The following letters were presented from the City Planning Commission: Recommending that Lot 1, Block 2, Tucker Park Addition, not be rezoned from "A" Residential to "C" Commercial.
