Meeting was called to order by I.ayor King, the roll was called and Commissioners King, Price, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb and Assistant City Attorney Yordy responde . City Attorney Clark absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 18th, 1950 and Special Special Ii`eeting of January 3, 1951 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance prescribing the salaries of certain officers of the City of Salina and repealing Sections 1-602 to 1-610, both inclusive, of the Revised Ordinances of the City of Salina, iansas, 19.8." On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was • had; Ayes: Bing, Price and Ramsey (3) Nays: Stephenson and Webb (2) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5531• An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and defining a certain lateral sanitary sewer district in the City of Salina, iansas, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 257, and pro- viding for the construction of a lateral sanitary sewer in said Lateral Sanitary If Sewer District ,.umber 257, so created, and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and for ti_e levying of special assessments against the property insaid district for the payment of the cost of such construction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the cost thereof." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sectio. -is and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: iii ng, Price, Ramsey, Stephe .son and Webb (5) Nays: (0) Layor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5532. No persons appeared to protest against the rezoning of Lots 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6, Surveyor's Plat 31, from Class "A" Residential to Class "D" Light industrial. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the removal of certain lands in the City of Salina, Kansas from the "A" Residential District as that district is defined by Section 3 of Ordinance No. 3188 and said ordinance as amended, and for the inclusion of said lands in the "D" Light industrial District as that district is defined by Section 6 of Ordinance No. 3188, and providing for the proper use thereof." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "Joint Resolution of the • City of Salina and County of Saline, State of iansas, establishing by proclamation a joint City -County Defense Council, to be known :.s the Salina -Saline County Defense Council, and prescribing the duties and powers of such Defense Council." On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: King, vri.ce, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the reso- lution and it is Numbered 1201. The above resolution is recorded in full on Pages 250 to 252 inclusive, Resolution Book dumber 4. Lloyd W. Price and W. R. W -d to appointed to serve as City's representa- tives on Salina -Saline County Defense Council. Keith Hughes and Glea Gillum appointed to serve as County's representatives on Salina -Saline County Defense Council. Resolution was introduced and passed relating to Option Agreement made and entered into under date of September 25, 1950 by and between St. John's School and the City of Salina, Kansas. On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Kiag, Price, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb (5) Nays: (0) Dayor approved the resolution and it is ;lumbered 1202. • The above resolution is recorded in full on rage 253 Resolution Book Dumber 4. 152 Petition was presented nor the excavating and paving of Pershing Street from north line of Beloit Avenue to center line of Republic Avenue. Petition referred to City Lianager. City Engineer filed Final Estimate in the amount of $4062.95 to H. J. Tay- lor Construction Company for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers Numbered 253 and -254 known as Job No. 267. On motion of Commissioner Stephenson approved by the Board of Commissioners. On motion of Commissioner Stephenson approved by the Board of Commissioners. �:otion adopted. City Engineer filed Partial Estimate in the amou.t of X 250.73 to H. J. Taylor Construction Company for Job Number 268. On motion of Commissioner Ramsey approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. City Engineer filed Partial Estimate in the amount of y463y.75 to H. J. Taylor Construction Company for Job No. 269, �neusner Storm Sewer). On motion of Commissioner Price approved by the Board of Commissioners. .otionadopted. Forty-one applications for Cereal Llalt Ueverage License were presented. Commissioner Ramsey moved that applications be approved and City Manager to have Police Lepartuent make inspection of all the Beer Places. Motion adopted. On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk
