OCTOBER 30, 1950
Regular Leeting of the Board of Commissioners October 30, 1950. Meeting
was cal led to order by Mayor King, ti:e roll was called and Commissioners King, Price,
Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb and City Attorney Clark responded.
The minutes of the Regular iueetin of October 23, 1950 were read and approved
as read.
mayor appointed ivrs. Otho Schmidt to succeed 1rs. Bruno Schwartz as a mem-
ber of the Public Health rqursi.ng Board. On motion of Commissioner Price appoint-
ment was confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
defining the terms as used in Section 13-301, Revised Ordinances of the City of
Salina, 1948, amending said section and enacting a new Section 13-301."
Onmotion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
king, Price, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb (5) Nays: (0) iViayor approved the ordi-
nance and it is Numbered 5517.
Chas. W. Shaver, Architect, filed Estimate Number 3 in the amount of
$1440-00 to General Air Conditioning Company for Fire Station Job. On motion of
Commissioner Stephenson approved by the Board of Commissioner Stephenson Estimate
was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Carried.
Petition was presented from Duncan Estate to vacate the north and south
alley commencing at the nort: line extended east of Lot 115 on Eighth Street,Original
Town, ti;ence South to south line extended east of Lot 115. Petition was referred
to City Planning Commission.
Letter was presented from City Planning Commission in regard to rezoning
to "B" Residential the West 50 feet of Lots 27 and 29 in ELock Mine, Riverside Park
Addition. City Planning Commission recommends that the petition submit some plans
regarding the new construction. Commissioner Webb moved to refer the matter
to the City Yanager. Carried.
Letter was presented from City Planning Commission recommending the vacation
of the north and south alley in Block 15, South Park Addition, running from Charles
Street south to Crawford Avenue. _ Commissioner Webb moved to refer to City tanager
to report November 13th, 1950. Carried.
Letter was presented from City Planning Commission recommending that a part
of 'Nest Kirwin Avenue lying parallel withthe South property 1 ine of Lot 6, ELock 3,
Beverly Manor Addition, the same being ten feet wide and 120 feet long, be vacated
and that it be added to and made a part of Lot 6, ELock 3, Beverly Manor Addition.
Commissioner Webb moved to accept recommendation and tilat ordinance be introduced
on first reading. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance pro-
viding for the vacation of a portion of a certain street in the City of Salina,
Kansas." Ordinance was referred to t he Board of Commissioners.
Letter was presented from City Planning Commission recommending to rezone
to 'B" iresidential, the East 110 feet of Lot 1, together with five feet accreted
on the north line of said East 110 feet of Lot l; East 100 feet of the South 14 feet
of Lot 2; and East 100 feet of the 141orth 36 feet of Lot 3, all in Block 1, in lor-
rison's_Re-slat of part of re -plat of part of dorrison's Third Addition, East of
Tenth Street in the City of Salim.. Commissioner Webb moved to accept and City
Clerk be instructed to give thirty days notice in the official City paper. Carried.
Mayor appointed the following Judges and Clerks forthe General Election
of November 7th, 1950, as recommended by ?arty Chairmen, October 27th, 1950.
