City Attorney Clark absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 25, 1950 were read and approved as read. rursuant to notice published In the Salina Journal, bids were received for Storm Sewer provided for in Ordinance Number 5509, known as Job Number 269, as follows: Salina Crane & Shovel Company- - - - - - - - - - 0006.00 H.J.Taylor Construction Company - - - - - - - -- w7,O84.00 • City Engineer's Estimate - - - - - - - - - - -- 473621.50 Bids were tabulated by the City Engineer. Commissioner Price moved that contract be awarded to H. J. Taylor Construc- tion Company, as per bid submitted in the amount of 47,084.00, and that Mayor be authorized to sign contract on behalf of the City of Salina, Kansas and check of unsuccessful bidder be returned. Carried. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of a certain storm sewer in the City of Salina, heretofore designated as Storm Sewer Engineering Job iiumber 269 and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof, pending the issuance and sale of bonds.” Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the vacation of a portion of Seventh Street and repealing Ordinance Number 5506." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: King, trice, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb (5) Nays: (0) 2dayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5513• An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and defining a certain sanitary sewer districts in the City of Salina, Kansas, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts numbered 255 and 256 and pro- viding for the construction of Lateral SanitarySewers in said Lateral Sanitary Sewer • Districts numbered 255 and 256, so created and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and for the levying of special a ssessmunts against the property in said dis- tricts for the payment of the cost of such construction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the cost thereof." On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: icing, Price, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb (5) Nays: (0) mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered X514. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making an appropria- tion for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: King, Price, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb (5) Nays: (0) is+ayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-511. Petition was presented from Ed Paronto for vacation of North and South Alley in Block Six (6) Phillips East Salina Addition. Referred to City Planning Commission. Petition was presented from Missouri Pacific Railroad Company to rezone from Light "b" Industrial to "E" Heavy industrial a triangular piece of ground which lies south of the Llissouri Pacific tracks, north of North Street and Nest of Ohio Street. Referred to City Planning Commission. Building Application Number 2858 - J. W. Jacobs, Lots 1, 3, 5 and 7, Block • 10 Pacific Addition. Commissioner Price made motion to approve. motion carried.
