Regular Lieeting of the Board of Commissioners September 25, 1950. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor King, the roll was called and Commissioners king,
Price, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb and City Attorney Clark responded.
The minutes of the Regular iuleeting of September 18, 1950 were read and
approved as read.
Commissioner Price made motion to hold petition presented by H. L. Ziegler
to make tests for ivatural Soft Water until October 23rd, 1950, so Commissioners
will have time to study Kansas Geographical Survey Report, and City la.nager make more
study of costs for Test holes, and get trap from Robert Soldan and give figures for
study to City Commissioners. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
• ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Construction Company for
the construction of certain curbing, guttering and grading improvements on certain
streets in the City of Salina, and providing for the issuance of Temporary Notes
to pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: King, Price, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb (5) ways: (0) Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5510.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the calling and holding of an election of the qualified electors of
the City of Salina, Kansas, to vote upon the question of authorizing the Board of
Commissioners of said City to issue its general obligation bonds in the amount of
X13,000.00 for the purpose of paying the cost of purchasing land to be used by the
said City for park purposes."

An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claii:s."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;

ordinance and it is Numbered A-510.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the vacation of a portion of Seventh street and repealing Ordinance
Numuer 5506." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
Letter was presented from City Planning Commission relating to petition
to rezone Lot 14, Bishop Addition on Ninth Street, from "B" Residential to "C" Com-
irercial. Commissioner Webb made motion to defer action until October 16th,
1950. Carried.
Commissioner Stephenson made motion to authorize the ILayor to sign Option
Contract to purchase Thomas Park for 412,500.005 by February 1, 1951. Carried.
