Meeting was called to order by ivayor Piing, the roll was called and Commissioners King, Price, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb and City Attorney Clark responded. The minutes of the Regular 14:eeting of August 28, 1950.were read and approved as read. Also the minutes of September 4, 1950. Pursuant to notice published in the Salina Journal bids were received for the curbing, guttering and/or pavi.,g improvements provided for in Ordinances lvumoered 5504 and 5505, kn(wn as Job Number 268, as follows: H. J. Taylor Construction Company 4110,149.90 L. W. Rearc;ad and Son 111,609.65 Kaw Paving Company 113,954.50 San Ore ConstructionCompany 113,135.00 • City Engineer's Estimate 111,191.00 Bids were tabulated by the City Engineer. Commissioner Price moved that contract be awarded to H. J. Taylor Con- struction Company as per bid submitted in the amount of 4110,14).901 with approval of City Attorney on war clause inserted by l.r. Taylor. Also teat ayor be author- ized to sign contract oil behalf of the City of Salina, and that checks be returned to unsuccessful bidders. Carried. w Mayor appointed J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers Numbered 251 and 252. Approved by Commissioner Stephenson. Carried. Concrete Construction Bond was presented from Royal S. Bills. Approved by Commissioner Stephenson. Carried. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: King, Price, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-508. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to he curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Smoky Hill Drive from the east line of Oakdale Avenue to the east line of renn Avenue." Resolution was referred to the Board of Commissioners. The following petitions were presented: Curbing and guttering Charlotte Street from highland Avenue to Simmons Street Curbing and guttering Simmons Street from Cloud to Charlotte.
