08-28-1950 Minutes• 1 1 C011ISSION16 PROCEEDINGS, REGULAR REETING COhLaSSIONERS ROOM, SALINA, KANSAS AUGUST 28, 1950 Regular I4eeting of the Board of Commissioners August 28, 1950. Meeting was called to order by Itiayor King, the roll was called and Commissioners King, Price, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb and City Attorney Clark responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 21, 1950 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the reopening of a vacated portion of Seventh Street in the City of Salina, Kansas, pursuant to the provisions of Section 13-11}3, General Statutes of Kansas, 1935, said portion having been heretofore vacated by ordinance Number 2152 of said City and providing for the repeal of said Ordinance Dumber 2152 insofar as the same is in conflict herewith." On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by • sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: price, Stephenson and Webb (3) Nays: King and Ramsey (2) idayor approved the ordinance and it is ivumbered 5506. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the inclusion of certain land within the corporate limits of the City of Galina, prescribing the corporate limits of said City and repealing Section 2 of Ordinance Number 5383•" On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: King, Ramsey and Webb (3) Nays: Price and Stephenson (2) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5507• City Engineer filed plans and specifications for the curbing, guttering and'or paving certain streets provided for in ordinances Numbered 5504 and 5505, known as Job dumber 268. Commissioner Stephenson moved that plans and specifications be approved by the Board of Commissioners and City Clerk instructed to advertise for bids to be received up to and including, ;Monday, September 11th, 1950 at 7:30 o'clock P. iki. action adopted. Commissioner Stephenson moved to approve payment of $200.00 to T. W. Sand- erson and h1ma R. 6anderson., for easement on sewer on Stack Avenue.. Carried. Petition was presented for curbing, guttering and paving 700 Block on Smoky iii -11 Drive east of Oakdale to Penn. Referred to City Manager. • Petition was presented to rezone Lot 14, Bishop's Addition on iiinth Street, from "B" Residential to "C" Commercial. (Jud Thompson). Referred to City Plan- ning Commission. City manager reported on the following petitions: Curb and gutter Lamar from Third to Fourth, Curb and gutter :north side of Claflin from Pershing to Funston, Curb and gutter Jewell Avenue from Quincy to Sunrise. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of the Norti. side of Claflin Avenue from the west line of Pershing Street to the east line of Funston Street. Resolu- tion was referred to the Board of '✓ommissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Jewell Avenue from the east line of Qzincy Street totile east line of Sunrise Drive." Resolution was referred to the 3oard of Commissioners. A resolution was introdu.;ed for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing to the curbing, guttering and grading of Lamar Street from the west line of Third Street to lie center liiie of fourth Street."
