Meeting was called to order by Acting lyayor Stephenson, the roll was called and Commissioners Stephenson, Price, Ramsey and Webb and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner King absent. The minutes of the Regular k -eating of July 24, 1950 were read and approved as read. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating tothe curbing, guttering and grading of Republic Avenue from the East line of Quincy Street tothe East line of Sunrise Drive." On motion of Commissioner Price the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Price, Stephenson, Ramsey and Webb (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner King absent. Acting Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1191. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 239 Resolution Book Number 4. Letter was presented from City Planning Commission recommending that Lots 36, 38, 40 and 42 in Block 2, North Park Addition be rezoned from "A" Residential to "D" Light Industrial. Commissioner Webb moved to accept recommendation and City Clerk give thirty day notice in the official City paper. Carried. Application for Cereal Malt Beverage License for the balance of 1950 was presented from Lirs. Orlie Steinle, d/b/a "Dixie Camp Taven", 805 West North Street, Salina, Kansas. Cowl ssioner Ramsey moved that Application be approved and license granted. Lotion adopted. Lamer Hotel Company presented plans for catwalk across alley from Clayton Hotel to Lamer Hotel. Commissioner Price moved to approve subject to approval of Fire Chief. Carried. Commissioner Webb moved that ordinance be introduced for first reading designating Front Street a through street from Republic Avenue to Crawford Avenue. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance pro- viding for the designation of an additional through street in the City of Salina and providing a penalty for the violation thereof. " Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Proposed Kraft Vlanor Addition to City limits held over for one week pending full Commission. Acting Layor instructed the City !Aanager to check into proposition of elimin- ating Union 'acific Railroad tracks on Fourth Street and connecting them with Missouri Pacific Railroad tracks south of city. Get proper plans and costs from both railroads and report. Letter was presented from City Planning Commission regarding proposed new street to be opened along the west side of Evergreen Park Addition, extending from Claflin to Cloud. Commissioner Price moved that same be referred to City Engineer for checking. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk
