Regular keetin g of the Board of Commissioners July 24, 1950. Meeting
was called to order by Acting 14ayor 6tephenson, the roll was called and Commissioners
Stephenson, Price, Ramsey and Webb and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner
King absent.
The minutes ofthe Regular Meeting of July 17, 1950 were read and approved
as read.
Group from new homes in southeast part of City appeared before the Board
of Commissioners regarding flood conditions.. City Commissioners instructed fir.
Allison, City 1�ianager, to contact U. S. Army Engineer and find out about recent flood
control program that was proposed recently for Salina.
City Manager reported on petition for curbing and guttering Republic
Avenue between Quincy Street and Sunrise Drive.
• A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: �A Resolution re-
lating tothe curbing, guttering and grading of Republic Avenue from the east line of
Quincy Street t oche east line of Sunrise Drive." Resolution was referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
City Engineer filed plans and specifications for Lateral Sanitary Sewer
Number 251. Commissioner Ramsey moved to accept and City Clerk be instruct-
ed to advertise for bids for Lateral Sanitary Sewers Numbered 253 and 254 to be
received up to and including August 7th, 1950 at 7:30 o'clock P. M. Carried.
Letter was presented from City Planning Commission regarding Building
Permit Application Number 2716 of R. L. Ramsey No action was taken by City
Planning Commission.
Commissioner Price moved to accept recommendation of City Planning Commis-
sion and if Mr. Ramsey wants something done to Wagner Motor Company he should prefer
charges. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final a doption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Stephenson, Price, hamsey and Webb (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner King
absent. Acting Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-504.
City Manager submitted Tentative Budget forthe year 1951• Commissioner
Price moved that City Clerk
be instructed to give notice in
the official City paper

that a public hearing on said Budget will be held August 11th, 1950 at 7:30 o'clock
P. t. in the Commissioners' %ieeting Room, City Hall, Salina, Kansas.
