Regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners kay 22, 1950. Iueeting was
called to order by mayor King, the roll was called and Commissioners King, Price,
Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb and City Attorney Clark responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of way 15, 1950 were read and approved
as read.
Building Application Number 2633 presented from W. H. 'Woods. City Attorney's
advice that it was okay.
City Attorney advised that the claim of Ruth Forristal there was no liability
of part of City. Commissioner Stephenson made motion that claim be denied.
Carried.
Commissioner Ramsey moved to introduce ordinance for first reading for one-
hour parking on Fourth Street from iron Avenue to Aalnut Street. Carried.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance •
regulating parking on a part of a certain street in the City of Salina, and providing
a penalty for the violation thereof." Ordinance was referred to the Board of
Commissioners.
Commissioner Ramsey made a motion to leave Fifth Street from Ash Street to
Elm Street as it now is, with no restrictions for one or two hour parking. Carried.
Commissioner Webb made motion to table for further research the crosswalks
on Santa ie avenue. Carried.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A resolution
relating to the paving of Second Street from the north line of Elm Street to the
south line of North Street."
On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the resolution was adopted as read and
on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; King,
Price, Ramsey, Stephenson and 'Vebb (5) Nays: (0) Layor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 1179.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 226, Aesolution Book
Number 4.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the vacation of a certain portion of a certain public alley within
the City of Salina."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: King, Price, Ramsey, Stephenson and Viebb (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved •
the ordinance and it is Numbered 5473•
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
ratifying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the
construction of certain lateral sanitary sewer in the City of Salina heretofore
designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 219, and providing for the
issuance of Temporary Notes to pay the cost thereof, pending issuance and sale of
bonds . "
On motion of Commissioner Webb the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Ring, Price, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the
ordinance and it is Numbered 5474.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance defin-
ing consumer of water and providing for the amendment and repeal of the original
Section 28-118 Revised Ordinances of the City of Salina, 1948."
On motion of Commissioner otephenson the ordinance was adopted as read by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Ring, Price, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb (5) Nays: (0) Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5475.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the ordinance was read and adopted by •
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;

An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the ordinance was read and adopted
by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Bing, Price, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is Numbered A-198.
Pursuant to notice published in the Salina Journal bids were received for
construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 250 (Job 265) as follows:
H. J. Taylor Construction Company $923.00
Engineer's Estimate $974-00
Commissioner trice moved that contract be awarded to H. J. Taylor Construc-
tion Company as per bid submitted in the amount of :923.00. Mayor a.thorized to sign
contract on behalf of City. Lotion adopted.
Mayor appointed J. Earl Wyatt, John Frederick and Wm. F. Grosser, Jr. to act
as appraisers for Lateral Sanitary Sewer 14umber 250. Commissioner Price moved that
appointments be confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance rati-
fying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the con-
struction of certain lateral sanitary sewer in the City of Salina, heretofore designated
as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 250, and providing for the issuance of
temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending issuance and sale of bonds." Ordinance
was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
City Engineer filed Final Estimate on Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 248.
Commissioner Ramsey moved to accept Estimate. Lotion carried.
The following petitions were filed:
A petition from Td.. H. Beckett to replace curb and gutter at 1210 and 1220
Broadway. Referred to City tanager.
A petition from Webb Johnson to rezone from "B" to "C" Commercial Lot 187
on Fifth Street, Original Town of Salina. Referred to City Planning Commission.
Mayor appointed Very Reverend Frederick 'U. Litchman to replace Rov. Robert
Steiger on uuelfare Board, for a term of five years from Lay 21, 1950. Approved by
Commissioner Webb. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
