Regular Tweeting of the Board of Commissioners April 24, 1950. ivieeting
was called to order by IJiayor ging, the roll was called and Commissioners ming,
Price, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb ai.d City Attorney Clark responded.
The minutes of the Regular L,eeting of April 17th, 1950 were read and
approved as read.
A petition was presented rom E. P. Riggs, et al., for curb and gutter and
balance of paving from present paving to gutter on East iron Avenue from Delaware
to Marymound Road, also the straightening of that part that is now a curve.
Referred to City LAnager.
A petition was presented from Leonard Wood, et al., for sanitary sewer to
serve Block 8, Sunrise Addition. Referred to City Manager.
1Jcti.ce of claim for damages was presented from Ruth Foristall. Referred to
City Attorney to check and report Tray 8th, 1950.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
creating and defining a certain lateral sanitary sewer district in the City of
Salina, nansas, desgnated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 250 and pro-
viding for the construction of a lateral sanitary sewer in said Lateral Sanitary
Sewer District Number 250, so created, and providing for the payment of the cost
thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the property in said
district for the payment of the cost of such construction of and for the issuing
of bonds to pay the cost thereof." Referred to Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the amendment of Section 13-703 Revised Ordinances of the City of
Salina, 1948, and providing for the repeal of said section." Referred to the
Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the sub-div.sion of the Fifth Ward in the City of Salina into voting
precincts and providing for the amendment and repeal of Sections 27-119, 27-120,
27-121 and 27-122, Revised Ordinances of the City of Salina, 1948. Referred to
the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Price the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: King, Price, hamsey, Stephenson and Webb (5) Nays: (0) Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-495.
Mayor King appointed J. R. Rauh as a member of the memorial Hall Board
as of April 1, 1950 for a three year term to replace A. B. Mackie. Sppointment
confirmed by Commissioner Price. Carried.
krs. Racie IV.orrison appears and filed petition for vacation of 13 feet
of ground on east side of Fourth Street from north line of Republic Avenue, north
to south line of Lot 1, Block 3, Hutchinson's Addition. She also asked that the
previous petition filed on April 3rd, 1950 and Planning Board's letter of April 12th,
be referred again to the Planning Commission. Commissioner Stephenson moved to
refer to Planning Commission. Carried.
Dale Lyon appeared and asked that his petition filed July 20th, 1949, for
the rezoning of Lots 5,7 and 9 in Block 8, Leavenworth Addition from "A" Residential
to "C" Commercial be sent back to the Planning Commission. Commissioner Stephenson
moved to refer to Planning Commission. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the Board of Commissioners adjourned.

Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners April 24, 1950. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor King, the roll was called and Commissioners King, Price,
Ramsey, Stephenson and Aebb and City Attorney Clark responded.
Leeting was held for'the purpose of acting on the appraisers reports for
the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers Numbered 216 and 217 and Vain Sewer "V".

Commissioner Stephenson moved to accept appraisers reports for the con-
struction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers 216 and 217 and lain Sewer tV".Lc)tion adopted.
• An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
relating to and apportioning and levying special assessments on certain lots and
pieces of ground in the City of Salina, Kansas, to pay the cost of constructing
lateral sanitary sewers in Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts numbered 216 and 217,
and relating to and providing for the collection and payment of such assessments."
Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance

lain Sewer Number "V" and relating to and providing for the collection and payment
of such assessments." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
