MARCH 13, 1950 Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners March 13, 1950. keeting was called to order by Mayor Price, the roll was called and Commissioners Price, King, Ramsey, Stephenson and Viebb and City Attorney Clark responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of parch 6, 1950 were read and approved as read. Application for Pool Ball License for the first half of 1950 was presented from N. V. Y.aybrier. Commissioner King moved that application be approved and li- cense granted. h'iotion adopted. Concrete Construction Bond was presented from J. M. McClure and on motion of Commissioner Webb approved by the Board of Commissioners. Charge Crder-A-umber 3 in the amount of $501.60 was presented, for additional • cost of Sewage Disposal t'lant. On motion of Commissioner Stephenson approved by the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance rati- fying and confirming a contract with H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the con- struction of certain lateral sanitary sewer in the City of Salina, heretofore desig- nated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District 218, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending issuance and sale of bonds." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating to the issuance of Temporary ;dotes in the amount of $8580.45 and $11,561.83." On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Price, King, Ramsey, and Webb (4) Nay$: 'Stephenson (1) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1172. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 219 Resolution Book Number 4. Commissioner Ramsey moved to allow Filling Station Sign on Lot 72, South :ninth Street, Grounds of nansas Wesleyan University Addition, known as 1513 South Ninth Street. Haggart appeared before the Board of Commissioners, on behalf of the Chamber of Commerce, complimenting the City Commissioners on what they are doing in regard to City Dump. Also brought up the idea of one-way streets on Fifth Street and Seventh Street, and stated the Chamber of Commerce is in favor of it. Asked by the City Commissioners to poll the merchants and get their opinion. • City Mlanager reported on accusation made against Chief of Police, L. H. Day and Commissioner Stephenson made motion to file report and that complete confidence of our City Administration be expressed as particularly relating to the Police Depart- ment and conduct of Chief in regard to charges brought or filed march 6, 1950. Motion adopted. On motion of Commissioner Webb the Board of Commissioners adjourned. City Clerk .w
