Meeting was called to order by i,;layor Price, the roll was called and Commissioners Price, King, Ramsey and Webb and Acting City Attorney Yordy responded. Commissioner Stephenson and City Attorney Clark absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of February 27, 1950 were read and approved as read. Commissioner Ramsey moved to read late bid of Salina Crane and Shovel Company. City Attorney to check on the legality. Carried. Pursuant to notice published in the official City paper bids were received for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 248 as follows: H. J. Taylor Construction Company X1709.50 • Diamond >Jngineering Company 1779.50 Salina Crane L Shovel Company 1822.00 City Engineer's Estimate 1832.50 Commissioner King moved to award contract to H. J. Taylor Construction Company as per bid submitted in the amount of $1709.50, and t at checks be returned to unsuccessful bidders. Motion adopted. Mayor appointed J. Earl Vyatt, John Frederick and Wm. F. Grosser, Jr., as appraisers for Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 248. Appointments confirmed by Commissioner king. Carried. Petition presented for the curbing and guttering from the east line of Front Street to the east line of Aen1SOn Road; curbing and guttering of Aension Road from the north line of iviorningside to the north line of Wilson. Petition referred to City Manager. Petition presented for sanitary sewer to serve Block 4, iworni.ngside Addi- tion. Petition referred to City Manager. Chas. W. Shaver, Architect, filed Estimate Number 1 in the amount of $568.80 to Gage Plumbing and Heating Company in the contract for heating Fire Station Build- ing. Approved by Comnussioner Webb. Carried. City Engineer filed Estimate dumber 10 in the amount of X22,493.70 to Brown and Brown, Inc., and Johnson Bros. Construction Company, for the construction of Sewage Disposal Plant. Approved by Commissioner Ramsey. Carried. Electric Wiring Bond presented from Roger Freeman, and on motion of Commis- sioner Ramsey approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing and glittering of Connecticut Avenue from the north line of Gypsum Avenue to the south line of Stapler Avenue." On motion of Commissioner King the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Price, Hing, Ramsey and livebb (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Stephenson absent. Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1167. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 208 Resolution Book Num- ber 4. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing and guttering of Delaware Avenue from the north line of Gypsum Avenue to the south line of Stapler Avenue." On motion of Commissioner King the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Price, Ling, Ramsey and Webb (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Stephenson absent. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims-" On motion of Commissioner V'ebb the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Price, King, Ramsey and Webb (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Stephenson absent. Tviayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-490. Hearing on Resolution Number 1164 relating to condemnation of building located on Lot 160, Fourth Street, Original Town of Salina (known as 240 South Fourth Street) was taken up by the Board of Commissioners. Bert Iyer and Lillian kyer appeared witt others regarding same. Commissioner King moved to proceed w_th Condemnation Resolution and have I _ house removed. Carried. A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution finding a certain dwelling type structure to be insecure and dangerous and providing for its removal." On motion of Commissioner Tung the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Price, rd.ng, Ramsey and'14ebb (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Stephenson absent. ivayor approved the resolution and it is slumbered 1171.
