Lieeting was called to order by iiayor Price, the roll was called and Commissioners Price, icing, Stephenson and biebb and City :attorney Clark responded. Commissioner Ramsey absent. 159 The minutes of the Regular 1wieeting of February 13, 1950 were read and approved as read. Bids opened on equipment as advertised. Commissioner Webb moved that bids be referred to City Lanager for him to check and make recommendat_Lons to Board of Commissioners next Londay. He, to confer with bidders and explain his recommendation to give reason for choice. C. A. (Art) Everhart appeared before the Board of Commissioners regarding Race Track in Kenwood Paan, and objected to the Baseball Club Lease preventing race • 'gorses from going in front of the Grandstand. Mayor informed hi Lease had been signed, nothing could be done on it. ivx. Vishneske and others appeared before the Board of Coimissioners about icodel Airplane Flying and regarding place to fly and maintenance. Referred to City ivianager. riarry Steels appeared regarding Building Application dumber 2532 and set- back which required 20 foot set -back. He was advised to petition for Special "C" Commercial with 7-2 foot set -back and refer to Planning Commission. Petition filed and referred to Panning Commission. Letter was presented from City Planning Commission recommending the vacation of Railroad Street, east of Llmdale Addition from north line of Elm Street north to Santa Fe Railroad Right -of -hay. Commissioner Webb moved to accept recommendation. Notion adopted. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance pro- viding for the vacation of a portion of a certain street in the City of Salina, Kan- sas." Ordinance referred to the Board of Commissioners. Letter was presented from City rlanning Commission recommending that Lots 109 and 111 on Second Street, Original Town of Salina, be rezoned from "A" Residential to "C" Commercial. Commissioner King moved to accept recommendations and that City Clerk give thirty days notice in the official City paper of intent to rezone from "A" Residential to "C" Commercial, Lots 109 and 111 on Second Street, Original Town of Salina, Kansas. R'Iotion adopted. Report of Fire Chief filed on building located on Lot 160, Fourth Street, Original Town of Salina, riansas, known as 240 South Fourth Street. • A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating to the fixing of a date and hour and place for a hearing on the quest on as to whether a certain structure within the City of Salina, Kansas is insecure or dangerous and whether the same should be rendered safe and secure or removed." I On motion of Commissioner d ng the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Price, King, Stephenson and Webb (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Ramsey absent. i.Iayor approved the Resolution and it is Numbered 1164. The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 206 Resolution Book Number 4. An ordinance was intrad uced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance rati- fying and confirming tie respective contracts of Busboom and Rauh, ivii.d-utiest Plumbing Company, The Gage Plumbing and heating Company, Inc., and The General Air Conditioning and Electric Company, Inc., for the construction of a Fire Station Building to be erected in and for the City of Salina, Kansas." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner King the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following votr was had; Ayes: Price, King, Stephenson and Webb (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Ramsey absent. mayor isapproved the ordinance and it is numbered A-1.88. 60 City Engineer filed plans and specifications for Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 248. On motion of Commissioner Webb sante were approved by the Board of Commissioners and the City Clerk was instructed to advertise for bids to be re- ceived up to and including Londay, i. -arch 6th, 1950 at 7:30 o'clock P. il.
