Regular Leeting of the Board of Commissioners February 13, 1950. fveeting
was called to order by ivayor Price, the roll was called and Commissioners Price,
King, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb and City Attorney Clark responded.
The minutes of the Regular 1Meeting of February 6, 1950 were read and
approved as read.
Salina Baseball Club Lease was presented. On motion of Commission-
er Stephenson same was approved by the Board of Commissioners and the Mayor be author-
ized to sign Lease on behalf of the City of Salina. motion adopted.
The following petitions were presented and referred to the City Planning
Commission:
To rezone Lots 109 and 111 on Second Street, Original Town of Salina to
r'C" Commercial District.
For the vacation of Railroad Street, east of Elmdale Addition from the
north line of Elm Street north to Right -of -Way of Santa Fe Railroad.
Airport Lighting Bids were opened by C. L. Clark and tabulated by Wilson
and Company, Engineers.
Commissioner King moved that checks of three lowest bidders, Salt City
Electric Company of Hutchinson, Kansas; General Air Conditioning and Electrical Com-
pany, Inc., Salina, Kansas; and Henry W. 1tlII_ller Electric Company, Omaha, Nebraska, be
retained and referred to Wilson and Company, Engineers, for their recommendation to
tKe C. A. A. for their approval. Idiotion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
creating and defining a certain lateral sanitary sewer district in the City of
Salina, Kansas, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District No. 248, and provid-
ing for the construction of a lateral sanitary sewer in said Lateral Sanitary Sewer
District I•ao. 248, so created, and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and
for the -Levying of special assessments against the property in said district for the
payment of the cost of such construction of and for the issuing of bonds to pay the
cost thereof."
On motion of Commissioner King the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Price, King, Hamsey and Webb (4) Nays: Stephenson (1) Layor approved the ordi-
nance and it is Numbered 5452.
City Engineer submitted Lstimate Number 2 in the amount of :2522.94, to
H. J. Taylor Construction Company, for curbing, guttering and/or paving improvements
prcvided for in Ordinances Numbered 5429 and 5430, Known as Job No. 260. On motion
of Commissioner Stephenson Estimate was approved by the Board of Commissioners.
Wilson and Company, Engineers, submitted Estimate Number 9 in the amount
of ;$29,018.75 to Brown and Brown, inc., and Johnson Bros. Construction Company, for
the construction of Sewage Disposal Plant. Motion adopted.
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
