Meeting was called to order by Iiayor Price, the roll was called and Commissioners Price, King, Ramsey and Trebb and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner Stephenson absent. The minutes of the Regular Lieeting of January 2, 1950 were read and approved as read. Wm. Hansen and C. B. Kelley appeared before the Board of Commissioners regarding the rezoning of Lots 88, 90, 92, )4, 96 and 98 and the South Half of vacated Russell Street on Ninth Street in the Grounds of Kansas Wesleyan University Addition, for the erection of a theatre. Reopen petition with Planning Commis- sion for Special Meeting, Thursday afternoon about four o'clock, if possible. Gas Fitters Bond was presented from Stauffer Hardware, and on motion of Commissioner King approved by the Board of Commissioners. IJiotionadopted. • Wilson & Company, Enginers, submitted Estimate Number 8 in the amount of ."14,766.32: to Brown & Bronw inc., and Johnson Brothers Construction Company for the construction of Sewage Disposal Plant. On motion of Commissioner Webb estimate was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Lotion adopted. Commissioner Webb moved that forty-seven Beer Applications be approved, and on roll call the following vote was had: Ayes: King and Webb (2) mays: trice and Ramsey (2) Commissioner Stephenson absent. Action on same held over until next Monday. City 'engineer submitted Final Estimate in ti.e amount of X6023.75 to J. H. Shears & Sons for asphalting Seventh Street between Ash Street and iron Avenue. On motion of Commissioner Webb estimate was approved by the Board of Commissioners. motion adopted. City Engineer submitted Final Estimate in the amount of 088.27 and „u)6.27, to H. J. Taylor Construction Company for Sewage Pump installed at University Street and alley west of Chicago (Job ff232) and at Second Street and Prescott Avenue (job 1vumber 258). On motion of Commissioner Ramsey Lstimate was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted. City Engineer submitted Final Estimate in the amount of $2971.83 to H. J. Taylor Construction Company for tine construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers 1dumbered 240, 241 and 242. On motion of Commissioner King estimate was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Lotion adopted. City Engineer submitted Final Estimate (fin the amount of $4991.953 for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers 216 and 217 and Main Sewer "V". On motion of Commissioner Ramsey estimate was approved by the Board of Commissioners. Lotion • adopted. City Engineer submitted Partial Estimate dumber 1 in the amount of $7429.13 to H. J. Taylor Construction Company, for the construction of curbing, guttering and/or paving improvements provided for in Ordinances Numbered 5429 and 5430 (renown as Job Number 260) Commissioner King moved that Estimate be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Ramsey moved that Estimate be approved by the Board of Commissioners. motion a dopted. Nine Pool Hail Applications were presented and on motion of Commissioner Ramsey approved by the Board. of Commissioners. Motion adopted. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance ratifying and confirming a contract with the H. J. 'Taylor Construction Company for the construction of certain lateral sanitary sewers in the City of Salina, heretofore designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts 245, 246 and 247, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereof pending issuance and sale of bonds." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Webb moved that Building Application Number 2491 presented from G. L. Blackburn, for addition to hatchery at 609 Broadway be approved. motion adopted. 0 51 40 iso persons appeared to protest against the rezoning of the South 15 feet of Lot 29, Block 1, idorth Bark Addition to "D" Light Industrial District; also for the rezoning of Lot 20, Block 44, bfLlitary Addition to "C" Commercial District. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the inclusion of certain lands in the City of Salina, Kansas in the "C" Corurercial District, as that district is defined by Section 5 of Ordinance No. 3188 and the amendments thereto and providing for the proper use thereof." Referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the removal of certain lands in the City of Salina, Kansas, from the "C" Commercial District as that district is defined by Section 5 of Ordinance Number 3188 and said ordinance as amended, and for the inclusion of said lands in the "D" Light industrial District as that district is defined by Section 6 of Ordinance Number 3188 and providing for the proper uses thereof."
