Meeting was called to order by Idayor Price, the roll was called and Commissioners Price, King, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb and Assistant City Attorney Yordy responded. City Attor- ney Clark absent. J. Taylor Construction Company 853,'068.00 L. W. Rexroad 53,786.00 J. H. Shears i_ Son 54,399.50 • hngineer's Estimate 54,369.50 Commissioner Stephe:son moved that contract be awarded to Ii. J. Taylor Con- str-�ct.i.on Company as per bid submitted i.n ti:e amount of 4c53,068.00, and that checks be returned to u:successful bidders. I;Iotion adopted. i,ayor trice appointed J. Earl Wyatt, Vint. F. Grosser, Jr. aid John Frederick to act as appraisers in ascertaining the valuation of certain lots and pieces of ground liable to special assessment for the cost of curbing, guttering and/or paving certain streets ;provided for in Ordinances Numbered 5429 and 5430 (Known as Job Number 260). Corrrm'ssioner Stephenson moved that appointments be confirmed by the Board of Commissioners. I�iotion adopted. Application for Taxicab Dri.vers License was presented from I. K. Deeds. On motion of Commissioner Ed..g approved by the Board of Commissioners. A petition was presented protesting against the proposed closing of Coronado Courts. Ordered filed. A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, gutteri.g and pavi:g of Twelfth Street from ti:e south line of Broadway Boulevard to the south line of Grand Avenue." On motion of .:orrhmissioner Stephei�son tree resolution was adopted as read and o.. its final adoption the roll was called and the followi..g vote was had; Ayes: I�r_ce, King, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb (5) nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1158. Tie above resolution is recorded in full on rage 194 Resolution Book Num- ber 4. A resolut-on was introduced and passed regarding installation of White 4Vay Lights. On motion of Commissioner Ste.;Irenson the resolution was adopted as read and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Price, Iiing, Ramsey, Stephe:-son and 1Vebb (5) nays: (0) Idiayur approved the resolution and --t is Numbered 1159. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance authorizing and providing for the issuance of Improvement Bonds of the City of Salina, Kansas in the sum of yp242,697.06 to pay the cost of improving certain streets in said City to be designated as Series Number 1-14)." On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Price, King, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb (5) bays: (0) i4iayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 5435• Applicatio, for Cereal Balt Leverage License was presented from H. J. LaC.lair at 700 West tivalnut Street, Salina, Kansas. Commissioner Stephenson moved that application be approved and license granted. 14otion adopted. Petition was presented from Parkview Realty and Building Company to replat Lots 23, 24 alid Last 25 feet of Lot 22 and West 25 feet of Lot 23, Surveyor's Plat 8, in the C-,.ty of Salina, Kansas, to be dedicated for street known as Indiana 1�venue. Pet:Ltion was referred to City Planning Commission. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the paving of Front Street from the south line of Crawford Avenue to the north li_.e of hepublic Avenue." Referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance granting perm=ission to change the frontage and authorizing the platting of certain lots and pieces of real estate being a part of Surveyor's Plat Eight (8) in the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas." Referred to the Board of Commission- ers. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "At, ordinance cre- ating and defining a certain lateral sanitary sewer district in the City of Salina, &ansas, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts Numbered 246 and 247, and providing for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers in said Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts i,'­,uiibered 246 and 247, so created and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the property in said districts for the payment of the cost of such construction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the cost thereof."
