Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners November 14, 1949. iVeeting
was called to order by 1.1ayor Price, the roll was called -nd Commissioners Price,
Ramsey, Stephenson and 'Webb and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner
King absent.
The minutes of the Regular 1,ieeting of november 7, 1949 were read and ap-
proved as read.
Building Application Number 2441 was presented from Salina Farmers Union
Co -Op Oil Company. Referred to City Manager.
Application for taxicab drivers license was presented from Chester L.
Luckett. Commissioner Ramsey moved that application be approved and license
granted. Ldotion adopted.
Application for Cereal Malt Beverage License was presented from Proctor

E. Rader, d/b/a "Beer Tavern" at 156 north Santa Fe Avenue. Commissioner Webb
moved that application be approved and license granted. Motion adopted.
A petition was presented for the paving of Front Street from Republic
Avenut io Crawford Avenue. Referred to City 1�anager.
A petition was presented to rezone to "C" Commercial, Lot 6, Block 1,
Tucker Park Addition. Referred to City Planning Commission.
Trust Deed, with a deposit of 05.00, was presented from Dorsie P. Cash
for the perpetual care of the South 1/2 of Lot 24, Block 18, in the Gypsum Hill
Cemetery. Commissioner 'Webb moved that Deed be approved by the Board of Com-
rrissioners and that Clty Treasurer be authorized to place the deposit in the
Gypsum Hi -11 Cemetery Lot Owners' Endowment Fund as provided by Ordinance Number
3530. Motion adopted.
City Engineer submitted plans and specifications for the curbing, gutter-
ing and/or paving certain streets provided for in Ordinances Numbered 5429, and
5430. Commissioner Webb moved that same be approved by the Board of Commis-
sioners and City Clerk instructed to advertise for bids to be received up to and
including Monday, November 28, 1949 at 7:30 o'clock P. M. Motion adopted.
City Engineer filed partial Estimate Dumber 2 in the amount of $62,680.09
to H. J. Taylor Construction Company for street improvements [provided for in Job
Number 253. Comm. Webb moved that estimate be approved by the Board of Commis-
sioners. Notion adopted.
City Engineer filed partial estimate Number 1 in the amount of 332,652.33
to H. J. Taylor Construction Company for Street improvements provided for in Job
Number 259. Commissioner Webb moved that estimate be approved by the Board of

Commissioners. Motion adopted.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A resolution authorizing and
providing for the issuance of Temporary mote of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the
sum of X62,680.09 to pay a portion of the cost of improving certain streets in the
City of Salina to be designated as Series PT -4 pending the issuance of bonds to pay
the cost of said work."
On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the resolution was adopted as read
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Price, Ramsey, Stephenson and "ebb (4) flays: (0) Commissioner King absent.
