Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners Ocuober 10th, 1919. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Price, the roll was called and Commissioners Price,
King, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb and City Attorney Clark responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of October 3, 1949 were read and approved
as read.
Robert C. Neilson appeared before the Board of Commissioners and withdrew
his application for Cereal Malt Beverage License.
Taxicab Drivers Applications Numbered 176 and 177 were presented and on
motion of Commissioner King approved by the Board of Commissioners.
Building Application number 2398 was presented from Al Noyce, and on
motion of Commissioner Stephenson rejected. Carried.
City Engineer filed Final Estimate in the amount of $1421.25 to H. J. •
Taylor Construction Company, for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number
244. On motion of Commissioner Stephenson approved by the Board of Commis-
sioners. Lotion adopted.
City Engineer filed Final Estimate in the amount of $1630.25 to H. J.
Taylor Construction Company for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number
243. On motion of Commissioner Stephenson approved by the Board of Commissioners.
Motion adopted.
C.ity Engineer filed Partial Estimate in the amount of $1339.17 to H. J.
Taylor Construction Company for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers
numbered 241 and 212. On motion of Commissioner Stephenson approved by the
Board of Commissioners. Motion adopted.
City Engineer filed Partial Estimate Number 1 in the amount of $2360.58
to H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the construction of Lateral Sanitary
Sewers Numbered 216 and 217 and for Main Sewer "V". On motion of Commissioner
Stephenson approved by the Board of Commissioners.
Clty Engineer submitted Partial Estimate Number 1 in the amount of
x11,095.80 to H. J. Taylor Construction Company, for curbing, guttering and/or
paving improvements on certain streets provided for in Ordinances Numbered 5389,
5390 and 5391 known as Job 1Jumuer 253. Commissioner Stephenson moved that
estimate be approved by the Board of Commissioners. Lotion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the curbing, guttering and grading and for the paving and grading
of certain streets in the City of Salina, Kansas, described as follows: for the
curbing, guttering, paving and grading of Lincoln Avenue from the west liiie of
'Twelfth Street to the east line of Eleventh Street; and for the curbing, guttering, •
paving and grading of LcAdams Road from the center line of Roach Street to the
east line of Front Street; and for the paving and grading of Claflin Avenue from
the west life of Fourth Street to the west line of Osborne Street, and for the
paving and grading of Pershing Street from the south line of Kirwin Avenue to the
north line of Claflin Avenue, and providing for the payment of the cost thereof, how
the same shall be assessed and the manner of the payment of the cost thereof."
Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the curbing, guttering and grading of Lincoln Avenue from the
east li:e of Reynolds Strbettd the east line of Broadway Boulevard; for the
curbing, guttering and grading of Wood avenue from the center of Crawford Avenue
to the centerof Bond Street; and providing for the payment of the cost thereof,
and how the same shall be assessed and the manner of payment thereof." Ordinance
was referred to the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the curbing and guttering of the south side of Hamilton Avenue from
the center line of Lleventh Street to the center li:_e of Twelfth Street."
Resolution referred to the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the curbing and gutteri.ig of the east side of Twelfth Street from
the center line of Harsh Avenue to the center line of Hamilton Avenue. Resolution
referred to the Board of Commissioners.

A resolution was introduced fob first reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the curbing and guttering of 'Twelfth Street from the center line of
Pacific Avenue to the center line of harsh Street." Resolution was referred
to the Board of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the curbing and guttering of Harsh Avenue from the center line of
Eleventh Street to the center line of Twelfth Street. Resolution was referred
to the Bard of Commissioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the curbing and guttering of Pacific Avenue from the center line of
Eleventh Street to the center line of Twelfth Street." Resolution was referred
to the Board of Commissioners.
Board of Education filed copy of Resolution and a Proclamation for Bond
Election to be held rJovember 15, 1919. Mayor signed the proclamation calling
for Special Election, November 15, 1919 to vote on bonds in the amount of $875,000.00.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
• providing for the removal of certain lands in the City of Salina, nansas from the
"C=O Commercial District as that district is defined by Section 5 of Ordinance Number
3188 and said ordinance as amended, and for the inclusion of said lands in the
"D" Light Industrial District as that district is defined by Section 6 of Ordinance
Number 3168 and providing for the proper uses thereof."

un,motion of Commissioner King the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Stephe.ison, ?rice, namsey, King and Webb (5) Nays: (0) Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is numbered 5128.
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
