SEPTEMBER 19, 1949
Regular i,:eeting of the Board of Commissioners September 19, 1949. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Price, the roll was called and Commissioners Price, King,
Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb and City Attorney Clark responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 12, 1949 were read and
approved as read.
Taxicab Drivers Applications Numbered 168, 169 and 170 were presented, and
on motion of Commissioner King approved by the Board of Commissioners.
Petitions were presented for the vacation of Riverside Road from Ash Street
to Ohio Avenue; and from Johnstown Avenue to Elm Street. Referred to the City
Planning Commission.
A petition was presented against the paving of Pershing Street from Kirwin
Avenue to Claflin Avenue. Petition was referred to the City Manager.

A petition was presented for the installation of a four-way stop sign at the
intersection of Twelfth Street and Elm Street. Petition was referred to the City
Manager.
Application for Cereal Malt Beverage License was presented from Retha
Wise, and on motion of Commissioner icing approved by the Board of Commissioners.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the inclusion of certain lands in the City of Salina, Kansas, in the
"B" Residential District as that district is defined by Section 4 of Ordinance Num-
ber 3188 and providing for the proper use thereof."
On motion of Commissioner King the ordinance was read and adopted by sections
and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
trice, King, Ramsey and Webb (4) Nays: Stephenson (1) Mayor approved the ordi-
nance and it is Numbered 5423.
A resolution was introduced entitled: "A Resolution relating to issuance
of Temporary Note in the amount of $5022.35."
On motion of Commissioner Webb the resolution was adopted as read and
on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes:
Price, King, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolu-
tion and it is Numbered 1145.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the curbing and guttering on the north side of Wilson Street from the
west line of Front Street to the east line of Third Street and on the south side of
Wilson Street from the west line of Front Street to a point 125 feet west of the

west line of Second Street."
Onrmtion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and
on its final adoption the roll was called nd the following vote was had; Ayes:
Price, namsey, ming, Stephenson and Webb (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the reso-
lution and it is Numbered 1146.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 177 Resolution Book
Number 4.
An ordinance was introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Stephenson the ordinance was read and adopted
by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was

approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A--473.
An ordinance was :introduced entitled: "An ordinance making appropriation
for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Price, King, Ramsey, Stephenson and Webb (5) flays: (0) Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-474.

' I iainnie Colliver appeared before the Board of Commissioners regarding hear-
ing on Cereal Malt Beverage License. Commissioner Ramsey made motion to suspend
Cereal Malt Beverage License Number 9677, issued to Minnie Colliver, d/b/a Miinnie's
Tavern at 226 South Santa Fe Avenue, for a period of ninety days from September 19,
1949. Motion adopted.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance rati-
fying and confirming a contract with the H. J. Taylor Construction Company for the
construction of certain Main Sewer "X" in the City of Salina heretofore designated as
It:ain Sanitary Sewer District "X" and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to
pay the cost thereof pending the issuance and sale of bonds." Ordinance was
referred totlie Board of Commissioners.
