of Zoning Appeals of September 11, 1956 and Regular Meeting of September 18th, 1956

were read and approved as read.

Addition to Grounds of Kansas Wesleyan University, from Zone "A" to Zone "B".
Commissioner Exline moved that ordinance be introduced for first reading.

Letter presented from W. H. Young, Postmaster of Salina, Kansas, asking per-
mission to place a drive -up collection box adjacent to the curb on the west side of
Eighth Street, to be located south of the Library's Courtesy Box and opposite the
present Postoffice Courtesy Box now located on the East side of Eighth Street.
Commissioner Wenger moved to approve, subject to 'Traffic Department okay.
Petition presented for the curbing and guttering the ncr th side of Beloit
Avenue from Roach to Lewis; and the paving with two-inch hot mix, Beloit Avenue
from Roach to Lewis. _
Petition referred to City Manager.

City Engineer filed Estimate Number 2 in the amount of 4P22,541-78 to Young
Construction Company for Sanitary Sewer (Job 339).
Approved by Commissioner Ramsey. Carried.

appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; -_

ordinance and it is Numbered A-819)

Special beeting of the Board of Commissioners September 25, 1956. fleet-
ing was called to order by :Mayor Hawkes, the roll was called and Commissioners
Hawkes, Exline, Lake, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded.
Meeting was held for -'lie purpose of acting on Appraisers Reports for the con-
struction of Lateral Sanitary Sewer Number 346, (Job 344-A) and for Lateral Sanitary
Sewers Numbered 347 and 348 (Job 344).
No protests.
Appraisers reports approved by Commissioner Wenger. Carried.
Assessment Ordinance introduced for first reading.

Meeting of Board of Zoning Appeals, September 25, 1956. Meeting was called
to order by Mayor Hawkes, the roll was called and Commissioners Hawkes, Exline,
Lake, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded.
Application presented from Verner C. Smith for permission to erect a
duplex on the North 70 feet of Lot 39 and North 70 feet of portion of Lot 37,
plus 72 feet of vacated Quincy Street on Kirwi n Avenue in Addition to Grounds of
Kansas �4esleyan University; and for the erection of a duplex on the South 50 feet
of Lot 39 and South 50 feet of portion of Lot 37, plus 72 feet of vacated Quincy
Street, on Kirwin Avenue.
Hold over one week and City Engineer stake property owned by City. Carried.
Application from Arthur E. Johnson, 1206 Yiest Ash street, for permission to
erect a private garage on the South 85 feet of Lot 12 and South 45 feet of West 23
feet of Lot 13, Block 81 Elmdale Addition.
Commissioner Exline moved to publish Notice of Hearing for October 2nd, 1956•
