JULY 31, 1956
Regular Meeting of the Board of (bmmissioars July 31, 1956. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Hawkes, the roll was called and Commissioners Hawkes, Exline,
Lake, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 24, 1956 and Special Meeting of
July 24, 1956 were read and approved as read.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relat-
ing to the paving and grading of Tenth Street with concrete, twenty-eight (28) feet j
wide toe of gutter to toe of gutter, from the south line of Pacific Avenue to the center
line of Broadway Boulevard."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hawkes,
Exline, Lake, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and
it is Numbered 1736.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 142 Resolution Book 6. •
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relat-
ing to the paving and grading of Grand Avenue with concrete, twenty-eight (28) feet
wide toe of gutter to toe of gutter, from the west line of Thirteenth Street to the
center line of Broadway Boulevard."
On motion of Commissioner Exline the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hawkes,
Exline, Lake, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and
it is -Numbered 1737.
The above resolution is recorded in Hill on Page 143 Resolution Book 6.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance provid-
ing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 5549 and the Zoning District bap
therein and thereby adopted, and providing for the rezoning of certain property within
the City and prescribing the proper uses thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Hawkes, Exline, Lake, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the
ordinance and it is Numbered 6079.
City Engineer submitted Plans and Specifications for Job Number 345 and Job
Number 347•
Commissioner Ramsey moved to accept, and advertise for bids to be received
up to and including Tuesday, August 7th, 1956 at 4:00 P. M. Carried.
Commissioner Lake made motion to advertise for bids for Fifth Street Parking •
Lot Number 4, to be received up to and including August 14th, 1956 at 4:00 P. M. Carried,
Milk Ordinance changes to be taken up at the next meeting.
City Engineer filed the following Estimates:
Partial Estimate Number 3 in the amount of $9,241.71 to Brown and Brown Con-
struction Company for Job 343.
Approved by Commissioner Wenger. Carried.
Final Estimate in the amount of $1,000.00 to Wilson Constructors, for construction
of Swimming Pool (Job 333)•
Approved by Commissioner Exline. Carried.
A petition was presented for the paving of Charlotte Street from Gebhart to
Fourth. Referred to City Manager.
Eight Pool Hall Applications for the last half of 1956 were presented and
approved by Commissioner Exline. Carried.
Letter presented from City Planning Commission recommending that Petition No.
1730 presented by Jack Sprecker, Mararch 14, 1956, for the rezoning of Lot 8, Block 13,
Riverside Park Addition berezoned from "A" to "B�.be approved.
Commissioner Wenger moved to accept and City Clerk give thirty days notice.
Carried.
