Meeting was called to order by Mayor Hawkes, the roll was called and Commissioners Hawkes, Exline and Wenger and City Attorney uarta responded. Commissiomrs Lake and Ramsey absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 10th, 1956 and Regular Meeting of July 17th, 1956 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance rati- fying and confirming a contract with C. N. McCollum doing business as McCollum Con- struction Company, for the cons truction of a storm sewer in the City of Salina, Kansas, heretofore designated as Southern View Addition Storm Sewer, and providing for the issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereofpending issuance and sale of bonds." On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hawkes, Exline and Wenger (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Lake and Ramsey absent. I An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance provid- ing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 5549 and the Zoning District Lap therein, and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City j and prescribing the proper uses thereof." Petition filed regarding unsanitary condition of a certain lot on the west side of Second Street from Prescott Avenue to Crawford Avenue. Referred to City Attorney. Hearing was held on Appraisers Reports for Job 340. No protests. Commissioner Wenger moved that Appraisers Reports for Job 340 be adopted as read. Carried.
