Regular Meeting of the Board of Commission rs July 24, 1956. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Hawkes, the roll was called and Commissioners Hawkes,
Exline and Wenger and City Attorney uarta responded. Commissiomrs Lake and
Ramsey absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 10th, 1956 and Regular Meeting
of July 17th, 1956 were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance rati-
fying and confirming a contract with C. N. McCollum doing business as McCollum Con-
struction Company, for the cons truction of a storm sewer in the City of Salina, Kansas,
heretofore designated as Southern View Addition Storm Sewer, and providing for the
issuance of temporary notes to pay the cost thereofpending issuance and sale of bonds."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Hawkes, Exline and Wenger (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Lake and Ramsey
absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6076.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing
for the curbing, gutterin , paving and grading with two-inch hot mixed asphaltic con-
crete over a six-inch rock stabilized base, certain streets in the City of Salina,
Kansas, to -wit: Curbing, guttering, paving and rading Albert Avenue thirty-three (33)
feet wide back of curb to back of curb with two f2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) i
inch crushed rock base, from the east line of Quincy Street to the west line of Roach
Street; Paving and grading of Beatrice Avenue twent -eight (28) feet wide from curb of

A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to he paving and grading of Ellsworth Avenue _ twenty-eight (28) feet
wide toe of gutter to toe of gutter with tow (2) inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6)
inch rolled mock base, from the west line of Sunrise Drive to the east line of
Norton Street."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger resolution was adopted as read and on its
j final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hawkes,
Exline and Wenger (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Lake and Ramsey absent. Mayor
approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1733•

appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Exline the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-

absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-812.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution relating to
street lighting on East Iron Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Exline the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hawkes,
Exline and Wenger (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Lake and Ramsey absent. Mayor
approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1734.

A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution relating to
street lighting on South Santa Fe Avenue and on West Claflin Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Hawkes,
j Exline and Wenger (3) Nays: (0) Commissioners Lake and Ramsey absent. Mayor ap-
proved the resolution and it is Numbered 1735•

No persons appeared to protest against the rezoning of Lots 38 and 39 on Front
Street in the Original Town of Salina, Kansas, from Zone "B" to Zone "F."

An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance provid-
ing for the amendment of Zoning Ordinance Number 5549 and the Zoning District Lap therein,
and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City
j and prescribing the proper uses thereof." Ordinance was referred to the Board of
i Commissioners.
City Manager reported that Petition Number 1790 protesting the paving of
Antrim Xvenue from Eighth Street to Ninth Street is insufficient.

toe of gutter to toe of gutter, from the south line of Pacific Avenue to the center line '
of Broadway Boulevard." resolution was referred to the Board of Commissioners.

wide toe of gutter to toe of gutter, from the west line of Thirteenth Street to the
center line of 10roadway Boulevard." Resolution was referred to the Board of Commis-
sioners.
Application for permit to construct a driveway at Ninth Street and Charlotte

No protests.
Commissioner Wenger moved that Appraisers Reports for Job 340 be adopted as
