COMMISSIONERS ROOM,

FEBRUARY 28, 1956
E Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissions rs February 28, 1956. Meeting
t was called to order by Mayor Lake, the roll w as called and Commissioners Lake, Exline,
Hawkes and Ramsey and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioner Wenger absent.
The minutes of the Regula Meeting of February 21, 1956 and Sp -tial Meeting
of February 21, 1956 wereread and approved as read.
! A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution
j relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of Mohawk Avenue 'rirom two 6007 th line
of Lot 22, $Lock 6, Sunset Manor Addition to the north line of Lot 17, Block 6,
Sunset Manor Addition."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Lake, Ex -
line, Hawkes and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Wenger absent. Mayor approved
the resolution and it is Numbered 1652.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Page 52 Resolution Book 6.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of McAdams Road from the east line of
Lewis Avenue to the west line of Ohio Street."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on
j its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Lake,
Exline, H wkes and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Wenger absent. Mayor
approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1653.

A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A hesolution re-
lating to the paving and grading of Roach Street twenty-eight (28) feet wide from
toe of gutter to toe of gutter, with two 2 inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6)
j inch crushed rock base, from the north line of McA ams Road to the north line of
Mellinger Drive."
On motion of Commissioner Hawkes the resolution was adopted as read and
j on its final adoption the rollwas called and the follomLng vote was had; Ayes: Lake,
Exline, Hawkes and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Wenger absent. Mayor
approved the resolution and it is Numbered 1654•

from toe of gutter to toe of gutter, with two -(2t inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6)
inch crushed rock base, from the east line of Roach Street to the west line of Lewis
Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Lake.,
Exline, Hawkes and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Wenger absent. Mayor approved
thesame and it is Numbered 1655•

A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relat-
ing tot he curbing, guttering and grading of Seminole Avenue from the South line of
Lot 7, Block 6, Suns t Manor Addition to the west line of Shawnee Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Exline the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Lake, Ex -
line, Hawkes and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Wenger absent. Mayor approved
the resolution and it is Numbered 1655.

A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution relat-
ing to the curbing, guttering and grading of Shawnee Avenue from the south line of
Lot 7, Block 4, Sunset Manor Addition, to the south line of Crawford Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Lake, Exline,
Hawkes and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Wenger absent. Mayor approved the
resolution and it is Numbered 1657.

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: IAri ordinance
creating and defining certain lateral sanitary sewer distjicts in the City of Salina, ' -
Kansas, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts Numbered 343, 344 and 345, and
providing for the construction of a lateral sanitary sewer in each of said Lateral
Sanitary Sewer Districts Numbered 343, 344 and 345, so created, and providing for the
payment of the cost thereof and for the levying of special assessments against the
property in said districts for the payment of the cost of such construction and for the
issuing of bonds to pay the cost thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Hawkes the ordinance was read and adopted by see -
tions and on its final adoption the rollAas called and the following vote was had; ----
Ayes: Lake, Fxline, Hawkes and Ramsey (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Wenger absent.
Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6042,
City Manager reported on the following petitions:
1710 For paving Beloit avenue from Quincy Street to East line of Lot 27, Beloit
Avenue, Addition to Grounds of Kansas Wesleyan University.
Held over until next meeting.
1709 Curb and gutter West side of Ohio from Kirwin to Claflin.
1701 Paving Republic Avenue from Beatrice and Lewis.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution relat-
ing to the curbing, guttering and grading of the West side of Ohio Street from the
center line of Kirwin to the center line of Claflin Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey resolution was referred to the Burd of Com-
missioners.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A resolution re-
lating to the paving and grading of Republic Avenue �, twenty-eight (28) feet wide
fromtoe of gutter to toe of gutter, with two (2)inchhot asphalt mix over a six (6)
inch crushed rock base, from the west line of Lewis Avenue to the east line of Beatrice
Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Exline resolution was referred to the Board of
Commi s si one rs .
City Engineer filed Plans and Specifications for the construction of Lateral
Sanitary Sewers Numbered 341 and 342.
Commissioner Ramsey moved to approve Plans and bpeci-ftcations and City Clerk
be authorized to advertise for bids for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers
329 to 342 inclusive; and Main Sanitary Sewer "AC", and for Pumping Station for the
purpose of pumping the sewage of Main bani.tary Sewer "AC" and extension thereof into
the existing sewer located at the intersection of Quincy Street and Cloud Street, in
order to conduct the sewage the sewage of Main Sanitary Sewer "AC" to a point of
outlet. Bids to be receivedun to and including March 13th, 1956 at 4:00 P. M.
Uarried.
The following pe titi,ons were presented and referred to the CLty Manager:
Curb and gutter the east side of Lewis Avenue from Minneapolis to Ellsworth;
and sewer drain in center of block.

Paving Roach from liellinger and Manor.
Paving Whittinghill from Crawford to Beverly Drive.
The following petitions were presented and referred to the City Planning
Commission:
Rezoning the North 125 feet of Lot 6, Surveyor's Plat 12 from Zone "A"
to Zone "B".
Rezoning the South 290 feet of HLock 4, Morrison's Addition between Baker and
Twelfth from Zone "B" to Zone "C".
Electric Wiring Bond filed by Donald E. 5eusy.
Approved by Commissioner Exline. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the Board of Commissio s adjourned.

Meeting was called to order by Mayor Lake, theroll was called and Commissioners
Lake, Ex -line, Hawkes and Ramsey and City Attorney Barta responded. Commissioner
Wenger absent .

Meeting was held for the purpose of acting on Appraisers Reports for
the curbing, guttering and/or paving certain streets provided for in Engineer Job
330.
No protests.
Commissioner Hawkes moved that all reports be approved as read. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the Board of Commissioners adjourned.

Meeting of Board of Zoning Appeals, February 28, 1956• meeting was
called to order by Mayor Lake., the roll was cal led and Commissioners Lake, Exline,
Hawkes and Ramsey and City Attorney Barta responded, Commissioner Wenger
absent.
Building Application was presented from John A. Ross, 801 SDuth Fifth Street.
(Set Back Requirements).
Commissioner Ramsey moved that City Clerk be authorized to advertise for
Hearing to be held March 6th, 1956 at 4:00 P. M. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the Board of Zoning Appeals adjourned.
