Meeting was called to order by Mayor Lake, the roll was called and Commissioners Lake, Exline, Hawkes, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of Februar 14, 1956 were read and approved as read. i An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance creating and defining nertain Lateral Saitary Sewer Districts in the City of Salina, Kansas, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts Numbered 341 and 342, and providing for the construction of a lateral sanitary sewer in each of said Lateral Sanitary Sewer Districts Numbered 341 and 342, so created, and providing for the pay- mentsof the cost thereof and for the levyin of special assessments against tle property in said districts for t he payment of the cost of such construction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the cost thereof." • On motion of Commissioner Hawkes the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Lake, Exline, Hawkes, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6040. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the vacation of a portion of a certain street in the City of Salina, Saline County, Kansas." On motion of Commissioner Hawkes the ordinance was read and adopted by sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Lake, Exline, Hawkes, Ramsey and -Wenger (5) Nays: .(0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6041. An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance igalfl ng an appropriation for the payment of certain claims." On motion of Commissioner Hawkes the ordinance was read and adopted by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Lake, Exline, Hawkes, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered A-791. City Engineer filed Plans and Specifications for the construction of Main Sanitary Sewer "AC" and for Lateral Sanitary Sewers Numbered 332 to 340 inclusive. Approved by Commissioner Wenger. Carried. City Engineer filed Plans and specifications for the construction of a Pumping Station for the purpose of pumping the sewage of Main Sanitary Sewer "AC" • and extension thereof into the existing sewer located at the intersection of Quincy Street and Cloud Street, in order to conduct the sewage of Main Sanitary Sewer"AC" to a point of outlet. Approved by Commissioner Wenger. Carried. Proclamation was presented for Special School Bond Election to be held in the City of Salina, Kansas:, March 27th, 1956. Commissioner Wenger moved that Mayor be authorized to sign. Carried. The following petitions were presented and referred to the City Manager: NCurb and gutter West side of Ohio Street from Kirwin to Claflin. Paving Beloit Avenue from Quincy Avenue to East line of Lot 27, Beloit Avenue, Addition to Grounds of Kansas Wesleyan University. Band Contract for the year 1956 was presented. Approved by Commissioner Exline. Carried. City Manager reported on the following petitions: 1702 For extension of the sewer from Des Moines Avenue or Ash Street to take care of Block 5, Riverside Park Addition from Ash street to Riverside Drive. Referred back to petitioner. 1701 For paving Republic Avenue from Beatrice to Lewis. 1707 For sanitary sewers for balance of Blocks 2, 4 and 6, and Area16 • in Sunset Manor Addition to Salina, Kansas. C7 1 I- I' • • 1706 Curbing and guttering balance of Mohawk, beminole and Shawnee Avenues in Sunset Manor Addition. 1703 Paving Roach from McAdams to Mellinger; and Mellinger from Roach to Lewis. 1705 Curb and gutter McAdams Road from Lewis to Ohio. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating, to the curbing, guttering and grading of McAdams Road from the east line of Lewis Avenue to the west 1i _:e of Ohio Street." Resolution referred to the Board of Com- missioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing tot he paving and grading of Roach Street twent -eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter,with two 2 inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed rock base, from the north line of McAdams Road to the north line of Mellinger Drive." Resolution referred to the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing to the paving and grading of Mellinger Drive , twenty-eight (28) feet wide from toe of gutter to toe of gutter, with two 2 inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch crushed, rock base, from the east line of Roach Street to the west line of Lewis Avenue." Resolution referred to the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating to the curbing, guttering and grading of MoHawk Avenue from the south line of Lot 22, Block 6, Sunset Manor Addition to the north line of Lot 17, Block 61 Sunset Manor Addi- tion." Resolution referred to he Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing to the curbing, guttering and grading of Seminole Avenue from the south line of Lot 7, Block 6, Sunset Manor Addition to the west line of Shawnee Avenue." Resolution' was referred to the Board of Commissioners. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relat- ing tothe curbing, guttering and grading of Shawnee Avenue from the south line of Lot 7, Block 4, Sunset Manor Addition to the south line of Crawford Avenue." Resolu- tion was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Lxline moved to approve Change Order No. 1 for Glass Blocks in Place of Plate Glass on Museum Contract. Approximate cost $150.00. Meeting was held for the purpose of acting on Appraisers xeports for the construction of Lateral Sanitary Sewers Numbered 319, 320 and 325, (Job Number 334. No protests. Commissioner kamsey moved that Appraisers Reports be approved as read. Carried. On motion of Commissioner Wenger Board of Commissioners adjourned. City QLerk
