JANUARY 17, 1956
Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners January 17, 1956. Meeting
was called to order by Mayor Lake, the roll was called and Commissioners Lake,
Exline, Hawkes, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 10, 1956 and Meeting of Board
of Zoning Appeals of January 10, 1956 were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
levying special assessments against certain property to pay the cost of constructing
certain water service pipes and sewer connections in certain streets in the City of
Salina, Kansas."
On motion of Commissioner �ienger the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Lake, Exline, Hawkes, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) lvlayor approved
the ordinance and it is Numbered 6029.

An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for the construction of a certain storm sewer and drainage in the City of
Salina, Kansas, to :_e designated as Cloud Addition Storm Sewer, and providing for the
letting of contract for such construction and for the payment of the cost thereof."

On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Lake, Exline, Hawkes, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the
ordinance and it is Numbered 6030.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
providing for and creating the office of Assistant Clerk of the City Court of Salina
and fixing the salary for such office."
On motion of Commissioner Hawkes the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Lake, Exline, Hawkes, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the
ordinance and it is Numbered 6031.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Exline the ordinance was read and and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Lake, Exline, Hawkes, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is Numbered A-786.
An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of certain claims." •
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Lake, Exline, Hawkes, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the
ordinance and it is Numbered A-787.
Commissioner Ramsey moved to approve application of Louis Serrault for
Recessed Parking Area for Lot 125 and the North ten feet of Lot 127 on Fourth Street,
Original Townsite, Salina, Kansas. Carried.
Application received from Doyle Yockers for two driveways at Third Street and
Prescott Avenue.
Approved by Commissioner Ramsey. Carried.
Civil Defense authorities appeared before the Board of Commissioners regarding
Observors Tower in Indian Rock Park.
Commissioners gave their approval.
Commissioner Wenger moved that City Clerk sell the balance of the $200,000.00 ,
Water Works Revenue, Series "C" Bonds to Lucas, Eisen amd Wackerle of Kansas pity,
Missouri. Total amount of issue $600,000.00. $1.00,000.00 of this issue was
sold to Lucas, Eisen and Wackerle, of Kansas City, Missouri, October 18th, 1955•
Motion carried.
A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A Resolution relating
to the curbing, guttering and grading of the East side of South Broadway Boulevard •
from the north line of Armory Road, north x.00 feet." Resolution referred to
the Board of Qbmmissioners.

Meeting of Board of Zoning Appeals January 17, 1956. i+eeting was called
to order by Mayor Lake, the roll was called and Commissioners Lake, Exline, Hawkes,
Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Barta responded.
Building Application was presented from George Lantz, 828 Sherman Street.
Commissioner Ramsey moved that City Clerk advertise for Hearing to be held
January 24th3 1956 at four o'clock P. M. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey, Board of Zoning Appeals adjourned.
