Meeting was called to order by Mayor Lake, the roll was called and Commissioners Lake, Exline, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Clark responded. Commissioner Hawkes absent. The minutes of the Regular Meeting of December 20, 1955 were read and approved as read. An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the amendmert of Zoning Ordinance 5549 and the tonin District Map therein and thereby adopted and providing for the rezoning of certain property within the City and prescribing for the proper uses thereof." On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopte, by sec- tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Lake, Exline, Ramsey and Wenger (4) Nays: (0) Commissioner Hawkes absent. Mayor approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6025. City Manager reported on the following petition: 1693 For the curbing and guttering of South Broadway Boulevard (81 -By Pass) from Armory Road to a point 400 feet North thereof. A resolution was introduced for first reading entitled: "A -resolution re- lAting tothe curbing, guttering and grading of South Broadwa (81 By -Pass) from A mory Road to a point 400 feet north thereof." Resolution was referred to the Shard of Commissiom rs. A petition was presented for the curbing and guttering of Ohio Street from Jewell Avenue to Ki.rwin Avenue." Petition referred to City Manager. ,r The following petitions were presented and referred to the City Planning Commission: For the change of routing of a certain alley in Block 2, Pacific Addition. For permission to erect a motel on Lots 9 through 20, Block 2, Pacific Addition. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the appropriation and condemning of ;ertain land within the City limits of the City of Salina, Kansas. for the use of said City for the construction thereon of a river water intake system and a sedimentation basin to be used to supply said City and the inhabitants with water." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance providing for the appropriation and condemning of certain land within the City limits of the City of Salina, Kansas, for the use of said city for the construction thereon of a fire station and related facilities in order to provide fire protection for the City and its inhabitants." Ordinance was referred to the Board of Commissioners. Four applications for license to sell cereal malt beverages in the City of Salina, Kansas, were presented. Approved by Commissioner Exline subject to final inspection of Sanitation Department. Carried. C. L. Clark submitted his resignation as City Attorney of Salina, Kansas, effective, December 31, 1955. Tom Lillard, Jr. submitted his resignation as Assistant City Attorney of Salina, Kansas „ effective, December 31, 1955• City Manager appointed Rudolph Barta as City Attorney, to fill vacancy created by the resignation of C. L. Clark. Appointment confirmed. City Manager appointed Larry 0. zengtson, as Assistant City Attorney, to fill vacancy created by the resignation of Tom Lillard, Jr. A�polntment ^onfirmed.
