Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners December 6, 1955. Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Lake, the roll was called and Commissioners Lake, Exline,
Hawkes, Ramsey and Wenger and Acting City Attorney Lillard responded. City Attorney
Clark absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 29, 1955 and Meeting of Board
of Zoning Appeals of November 29, 1955 were read and approved as read.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
authorizing and providing for the issuance of Public Parking Facility Revenue Bonds,
Series P1-2 of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the aggregate amount of $60,000.00
for the purpose of paying the cost of acquiring and improving ld for Off -Street
parking facilities in s aid City, prescribing the formand details of s aid bonds, pro-
viding for the collection and segregation of the revenues of said Off -Street Parking
facilities of said City for the purpose of paying tl,e cost of the operation and
maintenance of said Off -Street Parking facilities, paying the principal of and
interest on said Public Parking Facility Revenue Bonds, Series PA -2, and making certain •
covenants and agreements with respect thereto."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Lake, Exline, Hawkes, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor
approved the ordinance and it is Numbered 6016.
An ordinance was introduced for second reading entitled: "An ordinance
creating and defining a ertain lateral sanitary sewer district in the City of
Salina,Yansas, designated as Lateral Sanitary Sewer District Number 331 and provid-
ing for the construction of a lateral sanitary sewer ins aid Lateral Sanitary Sewer
Number 331, so created, and providing for the payment of the cost thereof and for
the levying of special assessments against the property in said district for the
payment for the cost of such construction and for the issuing of bonds to pay the
cost thereof."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Lake, hx1ine, Hawkes, namsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the
ordinance andit is Numbered 6017.
A resolution was introduced for second reading entitled: "A Resolution
relating to the paving and grading of Martin Avenue , twenty-eight (28) Feet wide
toe of gutter to toe of gutter with two 2 inch hot asphalt mix over a six (6) inch
crushed rock base, from the west side of Lewis Avenue to the east line of .Beatrice
Avenue."
On motion of Commissioner Exline the resolution was adopted as read and on its •
final adoption the roll was called, -Ad the following vote was had; Ayes: Lake,
Exline, Hawkes, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 1638.

An ordinance was introduced and passed entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of certain claims:"
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the ordinance was read and adopted by sec-
tions and on its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had;
Ayes: Lake, Exline, Hawkes, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the
ordinance and it is Numbered A-780.
An ordinance was introduced and pa-ssed entitled: "An ordinance making an
appropriation for the payment of certain claims."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the ordinance was read and adopted by
sections and on its final adoption the rollwas called and the following vote was
had; Ayes: Lake, Exline, Hawkes, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved
the ordinance and it is Numbered A-781.
City Engineer filed Plans and Specifications for Lateral Sanitary Sewers Num-
bered 329 and 330.
Approved by Commissioner Wenger. Carried.

Recommending that Petition Number 1672 filed by Verner C. Smith and

in $Lock 3, Van Trine's Addition from Zone "B" to Zone "C" be approved.

for Hearing. Carried.

Recommending that Petitions Numbered 1689 and 1690, filed by Carl L. Smith,
for the rezoning of certain property in Lamer's First Sub -Division to the City of
Salina, K ansas, be approved.
Action deferred for one week.
Petition presented for the vacation of 10 -foot alley between Santa Fe Avenue
and Seventh Street abutting Lots 32-34 and North 45 feet of Lot 36 on Santa Fe avenue,
Original Town of Salina, Kansas. Referred to City Planning Commission.
City Engineer filed the following Estimates:
Number 1 in the amount of $5825.08 to Brown and Brown Construction Company,
for Job 336. Approved by Commissioner Ramsey. Carried.
Number 1 in the amount of 43412.32 to H. J. Taylor Construction Company , for
Job 335• Approved by Commissioner Ramsey. Carried.
Number 1 in the amount of $2090.70 to H. J. Taylor Construction Company, for
Job 334. Approved by Commissioner Ramsey. Carried.
Wilson and Company, Engineers, filed Estimate Number 1 in the amount of
$13,812.52 to Purtzer and Dutton for Underground Reservoir. Approved by Commis-
sioner Exline, Carried.
Commissioner Hawkes moved that City Manager be authorized to auction off
Water Department house. Carried.
City Engineer filed Estimate Number 5 in the amount of $25,086.17 to H. J.
Taylor Construction Company for Job 330. Approved by Commissioner Wenger. Carried.
A resolution was introduced and read entitled: "A resolution authorizing and
providing for the issuance of Temporary Note of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the
sum of $27,594.78 to pay a portion of the cost of improving certain streets in the
City of Salina tobe designated as Series PT -21 pending the issuance of bonds to pay
the cost of said work."
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Lake,
Exline, Hawkes, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the Resolution and
it is Numbered 1639.
The above resolution is recorded in full on Pages 35, 36 and 37, Resolution
Book Number 6.
City Engineer filed Estimate Number 3 in the amount of $15,843.40 to Brown
and Brown Construction Company for Job 331. Approved by Commissioner Ramsey.
Carried.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution authorizing
and providing for the issuance of Temporary Note of the City of Salina, Kansas, in the
sum of $17,427.70 to pay a portion of the cost of improving a certain street in the
City of Salina, Kansas to be designated as Series PT -22 pending t e issuance of bonds to
pay the cost of said work."
On motion of Commissioner Ramsey the resolution was adopted as read and on its
final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; ayes: Lake, Exline,
Hawkes, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution and it is
Numbered 1640.
