Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners August 30, 1955• Meeting was
called to order by Mayor Lake, the roll was called and Commissioners Lake, Exline,
Hawkes, Ramsey and Wenger and City Attorney Clark responded.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of August 23rd, 1955 were read and
approved as read.
A resolution was introduced and passed entitled: "A Resolution determining
(1) it to be advisable for, and of benefit to, the City of Salina, Kansas, to acquire
lands hereinafter described and to improve the same for off-street parking facilities;
(2) the aggregate amount of money to be exuded for such acquisition and improvements,
and (3) that it is necessary to issue revenue bonds of said city in the manner and
form provided by law for the purpose of paying a part of such aggregate cost."

On motion of Commissioner Wenger the resolution was adopted as read and on
its final adoption the roll was called and the following vote was had; Ayes: Lake,
Exline, Hawkes, Ramsey and Wenger (5) Nays: (0) Mayor approved the resolution
and it is Numbered 1594.

The above resolution is recorded in full on Pages 397 and 398, Resolution
Book Number 5.
An ordinance was introduced for first reading entitled: "An ordinance relat-
ing to the extension of the police power of the City of Salina, Kansas, over and
upon the municipal airport of said City and declaring such airport to be included
as a part of the limits of said city and that all general ordinances of said city
shall apply to said municipal airport." Ordinance was referred to the Board
of Commissioners.
Contract was presented from Wilson and Company, Engineers, for Engineering
Services, for the use of river water through the Treatment Plant.
Approved by Commissioner Ramsey. Carried.
Letter from City Planning Commission, recommending that Petition Number 1635
filed by Daryl Baxter, for the rezoning of Lot 22, Beloit Avenue, Addition to Grounds
of Kansas Wesleyan University, from Zone "A" to Zone "B" be approved.
Commissioner Hawkes moved to accept and City Clerk give Notice. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Hawkes the Board of Commissioners adjourned.

Appraisers Reports for Lateral Sanitary Sewers 315., 316s 317 and 318.,
(Job 328) taken up by the Board of Commissioners.
No protests.
Commissioner Wenger moved to accept and approve. Carried.
On motion of Commissioner Wenger the Board of Commissioners adjourned.
